So he apparently called the team together immediately after the game to apologize for pulling Syndergaard, saying he wished he had that one back. It's obvious that he knows that he's just about gone, and is hoping that avoiding a mutiny might extend his stay. At this point I don't see how BVW can keep him on - after 200+ games it is painfully obvious that he is totally unqualified to be a manager. Yes, that will put BVW more in the line of fire, but doing nothing, especially when he's not the guy who hired Callaway, just makes him look foolish.

In his last three starts he has a 0.86 ERA, 1.095 WHIP, averaging 7 IP per start. Compare that to a 5.92 ERA, 1.562 WHIP, averaging less than 4 IP per start before then. Is it a change, or just a fluke? Presumably the Yankees will have something to say about that in five days.

Just cause it’s kind of funny Jay Bruce now has more homers as a Phillies than Robinson Cano has all season. The Mets are paying for them both though. Just funny!

1-2-3 first inning for Matz. I guess that means he's pitching a no hitter tonight?

This home plate umpire is amazingly bad on balls and strikes tonight.

And more pathetic defense by the Mets allows the Rockies to tie it up.

Good start for the Metsies on the three-run jack by Frazier. Sixteen consecutive home games with a home run, a franchise record.

    Dominant performance for the win.

And Diaz blows the two-run lead in the top of the ninth to tie the game, helped (of course) by some bad defense from the Mets. Between Diaz's extremely inconsistent performance and Cano's invisibility that trade has been way less helpful than was expected.

Nice - Diaz came out again in the 10th and gave up another run for the loss in the suspended game.

And now Frazier botches an easy double play ball that would have ended the inning and the next batter hits a 3-run home run to make it 4-1 in the regular game. God, this team is so bad.

Mets get three runs in the 7th to pull ahead 5-4, first pitch from Familia in the top of the 8th and it's 5-5. This guy is the worst pitcher in baseball.

And then the piece of shit gives up a three-run homer to put them down 8-5. He should be released before the game is over.

Don’t get why this team resigned him in the first place.

Exactly - and for three years and $30 million! Ridiculous.

Unbelievable - the ninth inning clown is doing his best to blow another one.

Diaz does everything he can, but fails at failing as Flaherty slips trying to score and the Mets win. Even in a win this team sucks.

Syndergaard injures his right hamstring on his 102nd pitch, Presumably he'll be out for two months.
