He was a tough little guy and a real fan favorite for his returns with abandon. The last game of one of those miserable seventies seasons instead of introducing the offense or defense before the game they introduced the special teams and Piccone brought the house down because no matter how bad the game was he was 100% all the way. Just came across this podcast which is an hour long interview with Piccone that is eye opening even to me. The old-timers will like it and some of the younger guys might like it too. The first half is his history in getting to the Jets with the best part starting at 27:00 that really explains why he was such a favorite. He talks about his coaches and the Lou Holtz part is pretty funny. It slows down after he tells that story and when he gets traded to Buffalo. I knew that there must have been someone who wore #88 for the Jets, but couldn't remember who. Yes, it is shocking that no one posted any Al Toon pictures. I'll have to see if I can find some and post them, even if it is late.
