Giving bullshit jobs to both McShay and Jeremiah would significantly bias ESPN and NFLN coverage of the Jets in a positive way. If you can’t earn respectability, buy it. I’m all for it.
IMO the best part of this is that Douglas is a former offensive lineman. Maybe FINALLY we can build a quality offensive line for the jets the way we did in the mid 2000s which led us to some playoff games. I am still stunned how little attention MacCagnan showed for the OL through 5 drafts. MacCagnan even trumpeted at a press conference in 2015 that OL in his opinion can be built with late round picks and free agents. Worked real well for us, Mike.
Have a great time on your vacation and enjoy the good news! God knows we've had too little to celebrate in our lives as Jets fans. It may all turn to shit, but at least for now, our future looks rosy and bright.
He had to be protected from woody coming back in 2020 and firing everyone..... I can understand any Decent GM prospect asking for that many years ..... he comes highly respect that’s more than we can say of our last two GMs
Douglas seems like the extreme opposite of Macc. This article depressed me and made me happy. Take a look https://www.sny.tv/jets/news/how-will-new-jets-gm-joe-douglas-differ-from-mike-maccagnan/307882876
I'm not a fan of analytics. It's not sustainable. It has messed up the Mets (more than they have been in the past). I agree though it should be part of the process just not rely on it for all your personnel decisions.
Huh? This is from the national championship game. I guess you were sleeping during the game. It seems BOTH Williams in ALABAMA got manhandled. Just what the Jets don't need another 3 tackle a game DL. Quinnen Williams If 49ers fans are wanting the Arizona Cardinals to make a choice that isn’t Nick Bosa, Williams didn’t help that decision. The defensive tackle who has dominated all year was absent for most of the game. Things were looking promising with an early tackle for a loss, but he didn’t do much after said tackle. If you’re thinking this is an over-exaggeration, it isn’t. Williams fell far below expectations. It wasn’t even an off-game, it looked like a game he took off. Williams finished the night with three tackles, one of which was a nice blow-up (and what I hoped to see all night) and one assist.
Tell that to Yankees, Astros, Cubs, Dodgers, Rays, and Twins. I.e. the winning teams. Also speaking of the Twins, they were averse to analytics for years. This year they decided to embrace them, and they're now the best team in baseball. The Mets analytics department is light-years behind that of the good teams.
