It's very early, but that bullshit that came out of Miami about players hating him, was just that, bullshit. The only players that voiced displeasure with him were Landry, because he was traded, and a few other guys because they were either benched or given less playing time. I fully expect him to have a great relationship with our guys. And as far as I've read, Darnold LOVES him so far, which is the best thing we could ask for
I'm hearing that it will be Douglas as the GM and Kelly as his number two. Not sure if that is true but that is what I am hearing. Sounds like that would be an ideal situation for us. Won't believe anything until the press conference. Weird things always happens with this team.
Why would Kelly leave his job with Chicago to make a lateral move? Where are you hearing this exactly?
Darnold is also a diplomat, mature beyond his years, and says things like stoked and pumped. I want Gase to succeed because I want the Jets to succeed, but that would happen even if Mrs. Fletcher of 'I've fallen, and I can't get up' fame was the HC. Speaking of which and now that I think about it, forget Lou Holtz and his fight song. This is the way the Jets should go. "I'm having chest pains!" They got that right.
I guess he would be Director of Player Personnel with us. Currently he is the Assistant Director of Player Personnel. Looking at that it'd be a move up. I'll have to find where I saw Dougls GM and Kelly Assistant.
I'll find it. It wasn't a Jets writer. Someone more in the know. Might have been a podcast. I'll find it and share it with you. It definitely was someone who has been right before. I believe the same person called the Mac firing and that Douglas would be his replacement. In my old age I can't keep up with everything sorry.
I’m glad Paton turned down the Jets, I would’ve hated to bring him aboard when the roster is ready to win when he had no interest the previous two times when he would’ve had to build up the roster. I’m annoyed they even requested an interview with him again.
No surprise. He's turned down for interviews with us and other teams. He reminds me of Decosta. Likes where he is at. Gets paid well. Why uproot and move when I'm doing something I enjoy. I'll move when I'm ready in an ideal situation or get promoted here. We have four interviews. All seem like qualified guys. Not too worried about Paton not interviewing.
what is this guy's deal anyway? Its the American way to want to move up and further your career. I hope the Vikings fall apart and he gets canned with his bosses and has to find work as a scout making 30 grand a year again traveling to places like Huntsville, AL and Starkville, MS.
Lol the hate. Decosta did the same thing. I agree with you that you want to move up but whatever reason he doesn't want to and is happy with what he is doing.
Well said. Many immediately drunk the cool aid out of Miami and blew it out of proportion. Much of it stemming from a few malcontent players that Gase held accountable, God forbid.. Landry thought he was too good to be told what to do and he was shown the door. Unlike what we did with that overpaid looser Mo Wilks, benched for one set of plays after coming in for practice as he pleased. It will be interesting to see what Landry and Odell will do when there isn't enough passes to go around and satisfy both their egos. I guess you could say Landry is now the number two receiver for the Browns in the battle of egos.
