https://www.nj.com/jets/2019/05/pey...up-whats-next-for-process-top-candidates.html Also an article about the issues with Maccagnan. Seems like he wasn't into being a GM and was very indecisive. They thought about canning him in December (boy that would have been helpful) before he got to wreck one more draft.
Seeing Casserly sit there in that video looking pissed off because his bum ass scout got canned brings a smile to my face.
I'm calling him now. I'm qualified. Been attending games since 85 as a kid. That makes me qualified. I do believe I could do better than some of the gms in the past. I'm a quick learner. I'll even take less than some of the candidates want. Then I wake up. I can only hope.
I called the number and got the job! Thank you! Interview went like this: Gase: "What makes you, Footballgod214, the right man for the job?" Me: "Yes". Gase: "Congratulations! Your hired!"
Aside from Champ Kelly, anyone know of any other minority candidates that Chris should interview? Off the top of my head, the only other minority person I can think of who has been a GM is Reggie McKenzie, and he's a senior personnel executive with the Dolphins. I hope he interviews several candidates (Joe Douglas, Elliot Wolf, Champ Kelly, and Adam Peters), and hires the best person for the job. That seems to be Joe Douglas, but I don't really know anything about any of them, except Elliott Wolf, whose father was Ron Wolf. That father-son lineage think didn't work out very well with the Polians, and I'm not sure it has with the Wolfs, either, although I think Eliott Wolf is better than Bill Polian's son, as the latter has proven that he was an awful GM. Elliott Wolf hasn't gotten his shot yet. If Douglas is the best candidate, I really hope that for once things can break our way, and that Chris will be able and willing to make the Douglas and Jeremiah tandem a reality! Git 'er dun!
I didn't hear it for myself but saw somewhere that Jeremiah said he is staying at NFL Network. Could be wrong though.
He could very easily do that, and who could blame him? Jeremiah would be a bonus. I mainly want Douglas, but think the pairing would be great, because we also need someone to fill Heimerdinger's job.
Can't seem to find a link in google. I think him and Douglas would be a great addition. Hopefully it happens soon no matter who it is. Want to see who the person is.
It was on a podcast that he was the guest of. He didn’t exactly say that he was definitely staying only that he wasn’t contacted about another position. Either way it doesn’t mean anything one way or the other.
I first read this as "Chip Kelly" and I immediately felt my blood pressure rise as I wanted to jump through the internets and strangle you. Thank God
Yeah he should recuse himself from any discussion on GM's. Has he and Wolf had any more consultant jobs since?
I got it! I got it! 867-5309. Also this is the part where Jets fans everywhere go "Joe Douglas, please be Joe Douglas" and Chris Johnson starts chuckling to himself...
I called it too. Jenny his administrative assistant said she'll give him the message and he'll get back to me. Can't wait to hear back.
Did Womanish really report that the Jets were using Peter Schrager as a consultant in the GM search???
Note that the only thing that was ruled out about Manning was that he wouldn't be the GM. That does not preclude him becoming the Pres. of Football Ops or some other position that could define how this team should look, i.e. a "blueprint."
