If they traded him for nothing like they did Lee then I am done. They would have to get an awesome deal back to even justify doing such a thing. This would cement the clown show. I will not come back until the Johnsons sell the team, if that even happens.

It would surprise me. The acquisition of Bell at an inflated salary smacks of meddling from Chris/Woody, not a free choice by Maccagnan (sort of like bringing Revis back at top dollar). If that's the case, there's no way Gase will trade ownership's new toy. Also, I don't recall the market for Bell being that hot, especially at this salary. What teams would want to acquire him at that salary and what would they give the Jets in return?

I'm not saying it's impossible. It would be another slap in the face to Maccagnan, trading his prize free-agent signing before the guy plays even one down. I firmly believe the other night's trade of Lee was Gase purposely shitting on Maccagnan by trading one of his first-round picks for virtually nothing. But with Lee, I think Gase did is so quickly as a way of shifting the media narrative from Gase's power play to Maccagnan's less-than-stellar draft record.

John Clayton is as plugged in as anyone in the business? He hasn’t worked for ESPN in over 2 years. He just hosts an opinionated talk show nowadays...

That is the most asinine thing I have ever heard and read. All this stuff between him and Gase is manufactured bull that the clown car media is running with because they lost their main source in the FO (Heimerdinger) and know people will eat this nonsense up.

We didn't sign an All-Pro, future HoF RB to a contract w 27M gtd only to trade him before he only plays a down for us.

Who would trade for him? No one wanted to pay him that contract to sign him for free. They aren't going to trade draft picks for him and take on the contract. The thought process makes no sense.

Also we can basically cut him after 2 years. With Darnold under his rookie contract, why wouldn't you keep him? Unless Gase got a center and multiple day 1/2 picks out of it or something, which is very likely not to happen. Its very arrogant if Gase wants to get rid of him because he isn't at voluntary OTAs.

The embarrassment would be too much to bear for Ownership. They're still as PR conscious as ever and the reaction to all of this hasn't exactly been favorable. Bad enough nobody wanted Gase, but if they traded Bell, it would have to be for an Ricky Williams style load of picks. I doubt this happens NOW, but I wouldn't rule it out in the future. I would be surprised if Bell has a Curtis Martin kind of run with the Jets. At this point, NOTHING surprises me anymore when it comes to the Jets.

Damn that's right, I bet all his sources told him to get lost. That 45 years of reputable experience doesn't mean shit without ESPN. Fucking loser.

Am I right?.. Yeh fo sho

When is the last time this guy had a scoop that wasn't purchased with ESPN petty cash?

Seriously, show gase the door, right now. He's nothing but a bomb waiting to go off. In fact, fuck that, he's already ignited.
I'm telling ya, gase and Williams are going to battle.
This is a historic meltdown waiting to happen.

And it has nothing to do with bell. Its gase. Him brooding will be the norm.

I will send money now for the billboard.

This was the fear when Gase was hired that he would try another power play like he did in Miami. In Miami his ego was said to be out of control and here again in NY he seems to be driven to show everyone how smart he thinks he is.

Fire Gase now before he and his ego completely destroy the team. William's would be a very good HC.

It is really sad to imagine how bad this could get.
