I'm tired of hearing about how "light, quick lineman" are the preferred commodity.

I want some big ass Tackles brought in on both sides of the line next year. Enough already.

So dump D'Brick based on a bad game?

Why are we talking draft with 3 games remaining?

Yes, yesterday was crushing to our playoff hopes... but until we're mathematically eliminated, why talk draft?

Because we are fans and can talk about whatever we want. Theres only so much you can talk about, and frankly is depressing talking about how much Pennington sucked yesterday.

As for the topic, I'm with you GSour to an extent. I like D'brick and Mangold, but I agree we need a big freakin nasty mauler at RT/RG. I certainly wouldn't be opposed if we used another high draft pick on a huge nasty RT this year. We could also go free agency route.

I mentioned I like D'brick, however I see what you are saying as well. Look at Buffalo as an example - LT is Jason Peters. He is a BEAST, he certainly isn't your prototypical "light, quick left tackle," but yet he man-handled us yesterday. Also San Diego drafted Mcneill last year and he is huge for a left tackle. But all in all, I think we at least need to get some beasts we can run behind consistently next season.

    D'Brickashaw is 312 pounds...

Anthony Clement is our RT and he is 320+...

Leonard Davis of the Cardinals weighs around 350 pounds and is a bust...

    Horrible post and idea...

He beat him badly on two meaningless plays at the end of the game...I doubt he would have allowed that had the game been on the line...he was probably just frustrated.

He struggled a bit previous to those two plays, but it wasn't anything worth getting hissy about...

Keep in mind how well he has played this season and remember he is only a rookie.

Big dumb tackles can't stop the likes of Freeney & Taylor. One swim move and they're toast. You have a much better shot with an athletic type such as D'Brick.

You don't honestly believe D'Brick is 312lbs do you? Sure the program might say he is, but it is certainly lying. LOOK AT THE MAN- he is no 300 let alone 312. I would say 290ish. I still think he's a good LT, but he definetly has to put some more strength and girth on over the offseason.

Also, Clement could weigh 400 lbs or 10 lbs, we still need a RT so I dont really understand what you are saying there. And you bring up one 350 lbs tackle that is a bust. Of course Davis stinks - but is it because he's 350? I doubt it - maybe he just stinks cause he's got no form or heart, I don't know.

Certainly I dont want a guy just because hes huge, but we do need some maulers on our finesse line.

Well enjoy quitting on the season. While the playoffs are unlikely, I'm not ready to quit until the math forces us to.

Of Course LT is one of the easiest positions to play because its so forgiving if a mistake is made , any rookie that comes into the NFL should be able to pick it up with no problems at all , which shows just how Crap Brick is.

Well the Math is done on the div which is where we should have been aiming , the wildcard slot whilst a reach is still there.
Its been a tremendous season thus far and nothing now can sully it. We have exceeded expectations.

It's quitting on the season if you make a post on a message board looking to next season once in a while? If Eric Mangini was on here talking all about next season maybe it would be one thing, but we aren't players or coaches we are regular fans, we can talk about whatever we want.

Glad to see you aren't "quitting" though, go to one of the million threads on how bad CP was yesterday then, I'm sure we NEED to talk about that more and more. As for me, I'm with the quitters I guess, because I want to talk about something besides that.

Let me clarify...I'm not down D'Brick. I believe he will become dominant as he matures and gets stronger.

I was really referring to D-tackle and having more beef inside.

you sunshiners are hysterical. If anyone asks a question or makes a point that doesnt either say Chad is the greatest qb ever or we're gonna win the superbowl, theyre negative idiots. Why talk about the draft now jetsin2004? Because you have to think a couple years ahead in this league....you think the Jets front office is thinking about the draft? of course they are...and we're a 500 team right now.....we are going to need a good performance in this years draft...and the one after that...and the next one.....put your blinders on and worry about making the playoffs this year if youd like, but dont question someone thinking about next years draft, because it is a perfectly reasonable thing to be thinking about. and changer your name dude, did we win in 04? what is that all about anyway.?
