It never ends with this team. The Johnsons need someone to oversee the entire football operations. Let him make the call on the GM and let the GM hire the HC. Proper chain of command.
ROFL at Chrisopher Johnson waiting for the NBA draft results thinking this would be buried under Knicks discussion. Every radio station dropped the Knicks and immediately switched to Jets talk
Maybe now they'll get a center. I'm not sure how, but they really need a center and some cornerbacks.
What's so fucked is that if we land Douglas and Jeremiah, that's two huge upgrades in the front office in terms of scouting and personnel. But do you really think the move will be applauded after this?
This isn't the first time we have been the joke of the league though. Which we are, again, and it's happened many different times over now actually. This would need to be an isolated occurrence for it to be singular. At least ownership are creative jokers. Good on them I suppose. Ya dig?
If you hire a football operations overseer, he should hire both the GM and HC. And then he can assess them independently of each other, and maintain continuity and vision independent of those roles. That's the whole point in hiring someone like that, not some chain of command.
I continue to not understand this “chain of command” gripe within this fan base. Literally 3/4 of the league is operating under a collaborative structure JUST LIKE THE JETS. If we were using a different structure ya’ll would be saying that we’re dumb for being outliers. Please for the love of god someone explain to me why its only on incompetent for the jets to practice but not the rest of the league.
I don't think any of those guys would thrive in a 3-4, Jones fell off the map this year, and Leonard has only played a single year. Mosley is easily one of the top ILB's in the league.
He was pissed off that the impasse got leaked apparently, but he got his way. I rarely believe anything I read. Ever hear about the fat guy who farted himself to death? I was so disappointed that it was an urban legend. I love urban legends, but I was depressed for weeks that it wasn't true. : (
I like what I hear about him. But I was optimistic about Macc when he was hired. So I'll be cautiously optimistic until I see the results of his work as GM.
It should be.An upgrade is an upgrade.Poison out of the building.I know you hate Gase but the guy hasnt even coached a single day of TC let alone a game. Upgrade the FO & hopefully improve the mojo in the building
The discussion was about the best inside linebackers in the game (regardless of scheme). Jones was injured all year, but that defense went to absolute crap. Mosley is a top 5 ILB, but he's not in the top 3 IMO.
I tend to agree that an upgrade is still an upgrade. But the mojo has just taken a major hit. We just brought in a bunch of players between FA and the draft, and fired the guy who brought them here as the coach wanted different guys. How's that gonna play in the building? And the HC has a history of causing issues, and now bam, more issues. This is not trending well on the mojo front, the timing front, or really any front.
Same, I forgot what my initial reaction of Mac was, I might have to go back and re-read some posts. It didn't take me long to start hating on Mac. I think I was more excited that Rex / Idzik were leaving. Jets better not EVER go through a consulting firm to hire ANYONE.
