Friday night they say 3 to 5 foot seas-------Im out I like flat seas https://forecast.weather.gov/shmrn.php?mz=anz452&syn=anz400
Thanks FJay. Those lines look kinda tight off the Jersey coast. If they call this trip off, I'll just reschedule for later in the Summer or early Fall. Spring evidently is too unsettled.
That is my top end CB. I can deal with 3-5ft but nothing higher than that. Tomorrow's forecast will tell the tale although it could change by Friday.
Boat leaves Friday night at 10pm. We should be offshore by 6am Sat. done by 8pm and back at the dock by 5am Sun.
Ok. Kinda iffy. Let’s see what the next few days bring. Need the storm to move faster and clear out early
I like your chances of going @Cman60 . Timing looks better today. Might be a little rough heading out.
I don't know FJAY---> maybe you fishing guys have a different definition of what " timing looks better " is because in CBG's world even if it was sunny and no wind = you aint getting me on the ocean with a pole in my hand , never mind if its raining as THATS OUT and that goes for even if I am on land . IMO , there might be a tight window between Saturday and Sunday but to me on these models Friday into Saturday looks BLECH at least as far as the GFS and the CMC are concerned and then Sunday appears to be more rain later in the day but that could easily move either way time wise. I did not look at the Euro or any other models. Cman if you go = catch the big one and Fjay this rain blows Im sick of it and cannot wait for snowstorms to come back as we got robbed this year and winter owes us.Have a good day all.
It looks like the timing is perfect for C. He leaves Friday at 10p so the Friday storm should be passed. Coming in Sunday by 5a may see rain but shouldn’t be too rough. Got get out and get your sea legs CBG.
Been there done that FJAY as I took a cruise years ago and it was a nitemare,,,,,,,yes we left out of ny and yes it was only 48 hours but there were 10 guys on that boat and only 7 of them in the photos ( I was in the photos, pale but in them ) as even the blackjack dealers were puking and MIA. We were dancing while holding onto the ceiling = that was my last large boat ride now its the circle line for me , lol. My best friend has had a boat for about 30 years now and I have gone out with him TOO many times to count but he knows when its time to take me in as I get that green around the gills look lol. Im out Fjay , you and Cman bring em home and I will help cook and eat em.
General rule: you ideally want the wave period to be 3x the height and you're fine .... or at least over 10 secs if it's 4'+ but yes, seeing that map I see stiff SW winds = shorter period = have fun
CMAN = you "might" be ok ----> these models suck ass. The GFS says drier and the Euro was saying wetter,,,,,,,,,,we will see what tonight brings but you might have done the right thing waiting this out.
Well hopefully CMAN is under sunny skies and NO WAVES as the sun is trying to come out here and doing a good job.
Just got back this morning! Our window to fish was Saturday until nightfall. I had a great time guys although the ride out was pretty bumpy but the fish did cooperate and it was well worth it. Check the fishing thread for pics!
ALERT THE MEDIA------> Sound the Alarms = this is not a drill I repeat this is NOT a drill --------> we might hit 90 degrees on Sunday !!!!!!!
