Wasn't his only injury the ankle that was trodden on by a CB, if he has had more it can't be many, certainly not enough to be labelled an injury risk and definitely not the tired thin frame argument
having a good set of receivers > Having a #1 receiver. Robby, Q, Crowder, Herndon, Burnett (who I hope steps up), and Bell ... 6 pretty good pass-catchers. I think the only thing the Jets are missing is a nice RZ threat. Could've had Hakeem Butler, but well yeah.
Enunwa broke out as an H back with Marshall and Decker on the outside. Marshall missed 1 game his 2 years with the Jets. Enunwas best production has always been on the inside. I saw the segment from the tweet. I'll wait till December to rate the teams in the division. Especially with the lack of depth.
Edit your right, I thought Washington took him with their first 6th round pick(188) but they lost that pick. He was taken after Austin and his gimpy knee
I had posted this before I read your correction. The Jets took Blessuan Austin with the 24th pick of the 6th round. Harmon went at the 34th pick. The Jets definitely could have taken Kelvin Harmon in the 6th round. Unless he is injured or has some character concerns of which I'm not aware, they must not have liked him because of his lack of speed. Many draft sites had him listed as a 1st or 2nd round pick. IMO he (Harmon) would have been a much better pick than a CB who has torn the same ACL in consecutive years, and has thin legs, and is likely to tear the same ACL or stay injured.
i expect him to play outside more though. the inside thing was more of a old OC plan. I don't think gase will use him inside as much. i think herndon and crowder and bell will work the inside although i'd suspect we'd have some packages that get Q and robbie both on the inside. gase was very good as using his sbu par WRs in miami to get good matchups.
Not all true. Enunwa started coming on as a h back but really showed promise in 2016 at wr. I wish I could find the route breakdown Nania tweeted out a while back. Anyway, enunwa is a good wr on the outside and will see most of his snaps there. No reason to play him in the slot with crowder here and bells ability to motion into the slot and make plays.
Gase had some good receivers at Miami. Plenty of talent on both sides, multiple pro bowlers. QB was lacking, but that's on Gase. He loved Tanny, hand picked Cutler and Osweiler. Those were his guys. He misused alot of the talent he did have. I believe Nania's breakdown showed something like 69 % of Enunwa's production came on the inside , even still from what I remember, he removed and pass that was tipped , or deflected which may skew the #s for his purpose of what routes were run. However the overwhelming majority of Q's production in 16 came between the #s and not outside. With Bell ,Crowder, and Herndon, I agree Q will be lining up wide much more often.
Yes, it is a shame, just as he was on the verge of becoming very decent for us, I guess it is the last chance saloon season for him, if he gets injured early on it will be his last season for us, fingers crossed he can overcome it all and carry on from 2 seasons back.
He just signed a 4 year extension, I think the first real out is 2021. Plus he's fully guaranteed for injury the first 3 years.
I knew he had signed a new contract but presumed they would have had an injury out due to his previous two injury hit seasons, this is usually one of Mac's strengths, the option to get rid after a season. Not that I want Q to leave and I'm hoping he can put in a clear round as he gives us many options in the WR corp.

You don't fire your GM "moments" after you gave him responsibility with both FA and the draft/#3 pick. We just spent more off-season $$$$ than any NFL Franchise since the start of Free Agency...
I never believed this when it came out. I don't believe Chris would fire someone right after the draft? However, if Mac's job is in fact on the hot seat? All I can say is it's about time? This loser has been getting away with doing nothing since he's been here. Drafting is the single most important prerequisite to being GM and Mac SUCKS at it. How many more stiffs will Mac get away with hiring before he finally gets shit canned?

Gase said they are in constant communication and that there are no issues. “Unless I say it, it’s really irrelevant to me,” Gase said Friday. “I don’t know who decides to put that stuff out there. It kind of pisses me off a little bit. We have discussions on everything. That’s our job. We have to work through so much stuff. That’s what we got to do. That’s all we’ve done since we’ve been in there. “Since we started, we’re constantly in communication whether he’s coming down to my office or I’m going to his office. That’s all we’re trying to do is just trying to make sure we’re on the same page all the time and making sure that we’re trying to put this thing together as well as we can in a short period of time.” Gase has been the Jets’ coach for four months, and he and Maccagnan have retooled the team through free agency and the draft. The Jets are holding a rookie orientation this weekend, and this was the first time Gase addressed the media since the reports surfaced. Multiple stories said Maccagnan could be fired after the draft. Gase said he didn’t read the reports but heard about them. “I don’t read much because I think a lot of the stuff is crap,” he said. “No offense.” It’s not out of the ordinary for a coach and general manager to see things differently about players, but Gase said it’s healthy to have those kinds of discussions and debates. “If it wasn’t, what are we doing this for?” he said. “If everybody just agreed on everything, it’d be boring. You need to have a little excitement once in a while.” The Jets were extremely active in free agency, signing Le’Veon Bell, C.J. Mosley and Jamison Crowder and acquiring Kelechi Osemele. During that time, a report said Gase and Maccagnan were at odds. The report said Gase was upset that Maccagnan didn’t pursue center Matt Paradis more aggressively. Paradis ended up signing with Carolina for three years and $27 million. Center is a concern, but Gase said he feels comfortable with incumbent starter Jonotthan Harrison. Gase said tensions are high during free agency and tried to dismiss the idea that he was frustrated about some decisions. “Not really,” he said. “The plan, we know what it was going into it. We got it executed and we moved on to the draft. It’s just about ‘can we get the guys that we’re talking about getting?’ You just never know because there’s 31 teams competing against you. You don’t really know who’s telling the truth. What agents are BS-ing you. Which ones are shooting straight. Free agency is a nightmare procedure.” With Gase mentoring second-year quarterback Sam Darnold and overseeing the offense and defensive coordinator Gregg Williams in charge of what should be an improved and aggressive defense, expectations are high for the Jets this season. The team has high hopes for nose tackle Quinnen Williams, who was taken with the No. 3 overall pick. The addition of Bell will be huge for Darnold and the Jets. Bell’s absence from voluntary workouts has created a bit of a stir, but Gase said it doesn’t bother him. He doesn’t know if Bell will be here for organized team activities later this month but expects Bell to attend and participate in the mandatory minicamp the first week of June. “It’s voluntary,” Gase said. “Everybody can get upset about it. It’s no point. We know where he is — he’s working out. He’s always been ready. Every year that he’s played, he’s been ready to go. That’s just what it is. “We’ll see how the OTAs goes. As of right now, I know the mandatory stuff, that he said he’s going to be here for that. I don’t expect him to not show up for that. When we get a chance, when we get him in town and we can cover some things, I know he’ll come in, he’ll get what he needs to get and he’ll go and get ready for the season.” Jets sign three picks. The Jets signed three of their six draft picks Friday and waived three other players. Former West Virginia tight end Trevon Wesco (fourth round), former Minnesota linebacker Blake Cashman (fifth round) and former Rutgers cornerback and Queens product Blessuan Austin (sixth round) signed their rookie contracts. The Jets waived cornerback Rashard Robinson, wide receiver Stacy Coley and defensive lineman Charles Tapper. Robinson was a disappointment after the Jets acquired the former fourth-round pick from the 49ers in 2017 for a fifth-round pick the next year. He appeared in 16 games for the Jets and had 10 tackles. He was suspended for the first four games of last season for violating the NFL’s anti-drug policy. Coley and Tapper were signed to reserve/futures contracts in January and never appeared in games for the Jets.
Was going to post a similar story up last night but didn't get round to it, I read it on nfl.com it is slightly different but the essence is the same, he and Mac get along fine, they have constant communication and yes they do disagree on occasion ( a couple of times) and talk it through like adults and get on with the job of making the Jets a football team. Not a shock really is it.
