How about we see what Williams can cook up... I'm thinking you may back peddle. And you know that If I'm wrong I will call myself out but I'm thinking he's going to make everyone around him better...jmo.
Gregg Williams has always had good defenses. But they were usually 4-3 which generates the most QB pressure. I was disappointed when I heard they were keeping the 3-4. It's like they are hamstringing him before it even begins.
The way it sounds is that they’ll use lots of different formations depending on the game plan. They could end up in the 4-3 just as much depending on who they’re playing.
Darnold looks like he's chiseled out of Rock. Q looks like he was chiseled out of Jello. Half of great isn't great, it's mediocre. Mediocre is still better than a bust. I'm all in with Mac making this pick.
Darnold had an off the chart combine. Great piece on Q. This guy loves Q and tells you exactly why. Hope he's right. https://www.reddit.com/r/NFL_Draft/comments/aqk3i1/the_film_room_ep_102_why_quinnen_williams_is_the/
Oh you don't have to sell me on the kid. I think he's got potential through the roof. That being said I wanted to draft for need. And with THAT being said, if he provides an interior pass rush that Leo couldn't (which will only make Leo better) then we DID draft for need.
I agree with what you said. Q will help Leo and Leo will help Q. I don't care what any of the Leo haters say...this move absolutely is going to help him. MANY more 1 on 1 situations coming his way this year.
That was great. And not ONCE did he call Q "a bowling ball with knives" haha. I think we're going to love this kid.
Need (or future need) is always factored in to BPA. It's not as cut and dry as choosing between need and best player. If the BPA was a safety, QB or ILB at #3, no chance Macc picks em. The fact of the matter is, the Jets did need a DT, McLendon was resigned for cheap, but he's wearing down and is not the long term solution. Sheppard also has yet to show any promise. It also adds more flexibility to play 4-3 effectively.
Now friends, I will provide some facts about Jets since 2015. If this doesn't make you vomit, I don't know what will. I am not against Macc due to Q. Willliams pick. This guy has been a failure since he got here and this year should be his last. He shouldn't have another draft and spend Jets' money in free agency. Now, Since 2015, 28 teams made the play offs. Jets are one of four along with Browns and 2 other teams. Since 2015, Jets are 29th in total wins. Only 3 teams worse one being the Browns. Since 2015, Jets are 32nd in terms of having their own drafted players still being on the roster. I know we had clueless Bowles as HC during this time but this doesn't give Macc a pass. This is the year for him to deliver. No other fan base would tolerate this much ineptitude. He would be out in front of the door if he was at a respectable organization. Okay I will stop here. Cheers.
Nobody cares. They didn't have a QB throughout all those years. Macc will be judged based on Sam and this year's FA / draft picks. That means he'll be around for at least 2 more years barring an absolute melt down disaster. Deal with it. Please merge this thread with the Gofundme nonsense thread.
Not sure what you're complaining about? He's in the top 32 at producing the best football team in the world.
Well your opinion is your opinion but if you call my post or any other post nonsense you will get a swift kick in your ass. Mind your business moderator wannabe.
Ain’t that the truth. Him and his coffee cup created wonders for Jets. Well some think he didn’t have a QB. I wonder why? Passed up Mahomes and Watson. Spent a second for Hack, spent a 4th on Petty. This guy is good at one thing. Not mortgaging Jets future that’s it.
If we’re assessing the GM based on record he should have been fired with Bowles. Apparently the powers that be feel he’s done his part
