Unpopular Opinion: The offensive linemen left in this draft are dogshit compared to the defensive players available. So even though our offensive line is terrible, it's a dumb idea to waste picks on guys who are not going to make in in the NFL, when there are better defensive players. Except for a couple of the running backs (Harris, Hill), there's zero value left on the offensive side of the ball in the draft.
I don't care for Love. I like Layne, but the next pick better be an offensive player or I may hire a hit on Mac.
Literally yesterday everyone was furious at quinnen claiming edge. Then we take edge and everyone is furious it’s not an oline man. Next we’ll take a lineman and everyone will be furious it’s not a corner.
Gonna be very interesting when Bell keeps running into a brick wall what his reaction is gonna be. He's not exactly a shrinking violet. As long as Sam can scramble, we should be able to luck out and keep him in one piece for another year.
His production says he's a proven commodity. I don't care if he's at La Tech or Va Tech, 17.5 sacks and 26 tackles for loss is great production.
I've been whining for sure but honestly putting aside my deep concern for Darnolds physical safety and development between Q, Polite, Greg Williams, Mosley etc I am pretty eager to see how this defense does this season. If its not solidly top 10 in the NFL at a bare minimum I'm going to be terribly disappointed.
Im beginning to think the fatal flaw in this “blind BPA” is that other teams prioritize offensive positions which means that technically the best player at any draft slot is inevitably defnsive.MAC living way too much in a bubble
Sorry, but that's utter BS! There's Hakeem Butler, Miles Boykin, Connor McGovern, Dru Sammia, Ben Powers, Chuma Edoga, Foster Moreau, Johnny Knox, several RBs, and that's just quickly off the top of my head!
That's BS. Only a couple of people were really upset last night. Quit exaggerating or lying to fit your agenda.
Yeah and go to bed dreaming about what kind of chaos he might be causing if every once in awhile he didn't HAVE to scramble. lol!
Realize if you take Qb (hack/darnold) out of the equation, under Mac’s watch - 9 out of the last 11 picks (top 3 rounds) have been used on defense.
Polite is a true roll of the dice. At the pick, he's got more upside than anyone on the board - with admittedly significant bust potential. His tape was great, his prep-to-be-a pro process was terrible. But I'd almost rather roll the dice at this point than take a guy with a lower ceiling here when there weren't many good OL/CB/Edge players available (though I admittedly a bit of a draft crush on Winovich I'm not sure he'd have been as good of a scheme fit...)
I can't believe I didn't realize that earlier. I think you're 100% right. The available players with the highest grades will logically have the lowest positional value.
