I don't hate this pick. Better to get a guy with raw natural talent that (hopefully) can be put on a training program and gotten into shape than a workout warrior with a low ceiling. Most forced fumbles in college football last year, he has an instinct for the ball and the QB that you can't teach. Hopefully he can get his head and his body straight and end up being the pass rusher we need. All that being said I really hope we draft a center or OL with our other 3rd round pick. We need to shore up the line badly.
We need more competition at every position on the Oline. Center is the only one that has a ridiculously desperate need.
should be able to ease him into the game on passing downs early. could end up being the compliment to Jordan Jenkins edge setting olb. 1st round tape bad draft process. the opposite of gholston
Not getting a C made me vomit. Then his game tape POPPED. This guy looks like the anti-Gholston. Still need to get the OL taken care of.
I'm telling you, this guy is exciting. I have a few friends that graduated from Florida and they absolutely LOVED this guy. If Gregg Williams can get him to buy into the system, he can be a very good edge rusher.
With Eric McCoy off the board this is the best case scenario we could have hoped for from a football perspective. From a non-football perspective, look at our locker room. Adams, McLendon, Leo, Mosely, Williamson, Maye, Anderson, Jenkins. ALL of these guys are extremely high character motivated individuals, there's no place to act up. He can only go with the flow, the flow that coach Williams will be charting the course of. How anyone could be upset with this is beyond my comprehension. Concerned I get, but upset... *sigh*
Sounds like he tried to gain wait to prepare for the combine and it backfired on him. Ran slow and injured his hamstring. I'll trust that his performance on the field is a better representation of what we're getting than what he did in shorts.
