I don't have/get movie channels, so I've never seen it. Well, not long term. On free weekends of HBO-CineM, I have seen a couple shows..but what's the big deal? Just another fantasy drama, with an excuse to see tits on cable? A show for older DnD geeks..who were DnD geeks in their past ,to feel warm n fuzzy about dweeb fantasy as adults? Or is it simply, just the new, big thing thats about to end. After this will be some dramatic, horror, fantasy piece? About a civil war soldier who dies but comes back as a ghost to help his friends? Lol.. and somehow they'll Find a way to involve tits, as usual. Ok, well, in that case, a show about a female stripper who dies and is a ghost in a strip club. An entire excuse for pay tv tits! And of course it will be touted as a great dramatic Series!
Did the dragon have sex with a chick yet?or is that too taboo for the show? It's not like thats never happened in mythology. May as well use it, since the show is so groundbreaking!
It's called a sense of humor, mingled with insight. I'm not trying in the slightest. It's called free will and an open mind. Youre just jealous.
That's easy. But the fact is , we still, while watching fake things on tv. Let it affect our emotions and thoughts. And thst is why it' called programming. But I didn't start thst here for thst type of conversation lol Just making fun of popular tv. We aren' all Game of Thrones heads
Well I wouldn’t call it the “new big thing” as it has been on the air as a television series for 8 years AND long before that the book series A Song of Ice and Fire was widely popular a decade before the HBO series. Onr aspect that has captured the attention of many fans is that the series in this and previous season actually includes writing and events that have passed the original book series to date, so in a sense bringing to conclusion character storylines that people have been following for over 20 years. Believe it or not there are people in this world who still read. Just another example my children were well into the Harry Potter series of books before the first movie and by the end were eagerly awaiting each new novel’s release.
Started watching it myself last week from the beginning. In a nutshell, it's a mashup of Lord of the Rings, medieval period piece, roman period piece, porno, Faces of Death all blended into the HBO formula of gratuitous/shock imagery. Except that this series is extra over the top with actual soft porn in pretty much every episode, breasts flapping / penises dangling, super bloody scenes in every episode, scenes of incest, child murder, every broken moral you can possibly imagine. They also build up a lot of characters over time just to shock you in killing them off in the most gratuitous way possible. The fantasy world scenery and storyline is really well done though, but that doesn't change the fact that it's basically a blood lust / sex lust show written to shock & provoke
Never watched it. No plan to ever watch it. Never watched Godfather either. Or Star Wars, or Star Trek. @Hackenberg - What is your comment?
I just starting watching it because it's the big event of the year TV-wise and trying to stay relevant lol. But the world they created is a pretty bleak, sad and disgusting existence. Not sure the actual Romans were any better 2000 years ago, I'm just happy that's not real life right now (pretty sure lots of people watching it do wish it was real life)
Lol look, here's the deal..now that I'm older, I realize all tv is stupid. But I still have shows I'll watch to be amused by. I've watched godfather. I like number 2, where they look at family origin. And hey, I've watched all the Star wars. I was born in 65,( April 24th birthday, yesterday ) it's just part of culture to amuse yourself with at times. Had I had HBO, I'd probably check it out. But I don't so I don't care. I watch movies and sports. I don't Bother with 98% of sitcoms ...i like Brockmires dialog lol .. I watched Deadly class, for its 80s references/theme.. and Taboo, because I like period pieces and the costumes and it reminds me of my goth days in the 80s, just a little bit. But mostly, just movies. They call it "programming" for a reason. TV was the original virtual reality.
It's very well scripted programing, completely unpredictable. Unlike the other popular Sunday program known as the NFL where we all know the ending well before it ends
