A week 1 match on Monday night......sucks. A week 1 match on Monday night against the browns......... sucks more. A week 1 match on Monday night against the browns as the home opener........sucks the most
The ratings were always there. As far back as I can remember there's been excitement for the draft well the first few rounds at least. The modern NFL turning it into a prime time event is all about greed. All about creating another 'event' they can include in their tv package when it's time to gouge the networks again.
The nfl is a business and the goal is to make as much money as possible. Not sure why you begrudge them for it. The networks are free to bid on their product or not. You are free to watch or don’t.
Please. It's pure greed. Gluttony. To me it's revolting. A bunch of old billionaires who already made more money than they'll ever be able to spend in this lifetime by the time they become NFL owners looking to make even more money they'll never be able to spend in this lifetime. They can't take it with them. No one can. In the process they're ruining the game and the fan experience.
Yeah I like football. Or what's left of it. When they change the game to the point it's no longer what I call football I'll stop watching. It's getting to that point. What next? You're gonna tell me these greedy old billionaires who milk every last dollar out of anyone anywhere they can invented the game?
With half decent coaching, we'd have closed out that game last year against the Browns. Having Gregg Williams coaching our D instead of theirs will make a big difference, as will playing home instead of on the road. I'd expect a good game that really could go either way. It's a good week 1 matchup.
They are not bleeding every last dollar anyone. They are offering a product. It’s up to the consumers to decide whether that is worth paying for. Again, begrudging business people for making money is really kind of stupid. It’s their main objective.
I would've preferred another opponent. The Browns look loaded. Even without Gregg Williams they still have Garrett a superstud in his two games against the Jets so far he's proven to be a Jets killer. They added Vernon too so their pass rush should be fierce. Then there's OBJ on the other side of the ball. The Jets should be much improved but still lots of unknowns with them. How will Williams run this 3-4? Will we get actual production out of our $14.2 million 'franchise defender' Leonard Williams in 2019 or more of his hidden production garbage? How big of a leap will Darnold make in year two? The Jets can win but they'll have to show up ready to play. Cleveland will more than likely be favored to win the game. If the Jets can get it it'd be a quality W to open up 2019 no doubt.
Yep..lots of unknowns for Game 1..like you said Ratings and Greed don't help here Once the schedule comes out I will show how 10 wins is in the realm of possibility BUT ..This game with the Browns I am not counting as a sure win..and yes they are gonna be tough After the Pre Season the kinks should be out of the Jets schemes on Off and Def however even if this game was played week 4 it would be difficult No one is used to seeing the Browns as anything but losers esp guys on here who never liked B Mayfield to begin with I say never underestimate your Opponent
I know they are already throwing Super Bowl parties for the Browns and worshipping the grass Mayfield walks on everywhere, but last I checked Cleveland finished 7-8-1 last season. IF the Jets open at home against a team that had a losing record last year, that's exactly what you want and all you can ask for.
