Nimmo strikeouts are a bit alarming. Maybe moving him down the lineup wouldn’t be the worst idea?Maybe switch with Rosario just to tweak things a little for him temporarily.
I hated the trade then, and I hate the trade now. Yes, our closer is legit, but Cano is absolutely brutal. I would have rather thrown money at a FA closer than make that trade.
Too early to judge Cano, he was lighting it up in spring training and his opener was phenomenal. I think Cano is one of those guys that just doesn't do well in long sleeve weather but you have to give him a few months
And once again Wheeler can't get the ball over the plate. If the second half last year turns out to be a mirage the Mets are royally screwed.
It certainly seems that while the Mets might have 4 starters, they definitely don't have 5. Darling taking a leave of absence because of "surgery to remove a large mass in [his] chest." That doesn't sound good at all.
Vargas ERA this year is 14.21. His ERA since joining the Mets is 6.32. You can’t sell the fans that you’re in it to win it if you keep sending him out. Sad to hear about Darling. I hope things go as smoothly as it possibly can.
So... my brother and Father know I absolutely hate Cano and the trade we made for him. What do they do? They go and buy me a Cano jersey as a joke. It just came in the mail lmao. Unreal
Callaway with another brainless decision, bringing in Gsellman with the bases loads and two outs, rather than bringing in Diaz for a four-out save. Four pitches later, tie game.
Why would you use your last bench player travis d'arnaud to bunt? When was the last time travis d'arnaud actually had a successful bunt? If you wanted to bunt there why not use a pitcher in that spot?
