Pens still complain about the ice ? Isles up 3 games to none------1 more game to win guys enjoy the ride !!!
Ha. I only was able to watch the third, but to be safe I’m taking my boy for batting practice later and do have a game on Tuesday.
Enjoy this fellas we have waited a LONG time and deserve it,,,,this has been a great ride and its not over
holy smokes I did not even see this when the play happened---first off I thought the Pens should have cleared this puck before we scored but look at the play that Beauvillier made on this goal !!!!
What a game. What I liked was when Pitt scored the Isles came right back with a goal 30 seconds later and killed any momentum Pitt may have gotten. Three games in and Crosby has been kept off the score sheet every game. One more win and hopefully it comes Tuesday.
This is why Lou brought in the veterans he did, I have always liked Filpula and he is delivering with Kamarov. Pierre McGuire was visibly upset today, he caught himself making excuses for the Pens, and he finally started to give the Isles credit. Everyone here knows it, elimination games are the hardest to win, Isles need to take it to another level. Towes has been outstanding this season for isles as well. I will eat crow on my criticism of Mayfield, it took him some time but he is playing much better than he did last year and as a Soundtiger.
Mcguire was beyond painful to listen to,,,,,Menace I will go one better as I buried Mayfield last year, he has played very well but-----> Nelson has played well and today he was outstanding. In the next breath I still wish they had gotten help at the deadline but we roll with what we have.
wow......a bit unexpected as I didn't think they had the horses to win a series this year but wrong I am. The team looks like they have legs to make a serious run. very interesting parallel with the Nets.....so called experts thinking they are a year or 2 away but success may be happening NOW right before our eyes. maybe the jets follow a similar path next season. good luck!
We have butted heads over this a couple times and we now both agree on one thing, I didn’t think we had the horses to do this to the pens or most other top teams. I am still happy that Lou didn’t give away too much of the future for help this year and I’ve been viewing current playoff scoring leader Jordan Eberle as a rental much of the year ( current nhl playoff scoring leader are you Fn kidding me lol) Pajama boy leaving and Trotz and Lou coming in galvanized this team. This us against the world attitude and commitment to a defensive system is going to carry us far further than our talent alone says we should. As fans we may agree to disagree on the roster decisions but we are all loving the team.
Hopefully they close it out Tuesday. If they do advance the Caps( I don't see Carolina winning) will be a much harder opponent. Holtby is better than Murray, and the Caps have a good D which something Pitt doesn't have. Facing #8 and company is just as challenging as the Pens offense. The Isles need to get that 4th win first before the focus (probably) shifts to the Caps. LGI.
Win one more game and then we can get some rest and think about advancing--------> in the meantime just hope that ALL the other series go long and are fought hard and if the go into OT or multiple OT's the better.
I thought Mario Lemieux was the Penguins owner. Apparently it is actually Barry Trotz. (7-2) in his last 9 playoff games against a Pens team who had just won back-to-back Cups. Need to get one more win this series and do the world a huge favor by dumping Sid and the Pens out of the playoffs!
TDK , I thought Ovi killed that guy tonight, KOed him. In other news theres a BIG GAME tonight Lets Go Islanders !
It was not just some other guy it was the #2 overall pick and fellow Russian Andre Svechnikov. Svechnikov scored 20 goals in his rookie campaign and 2 in game 1 of this series. HUGE loss for Canes if he is concussed. Ovie kicked the crap out of him, but did land a cheap unnceccessary blow as he was already going down, which didn’t help when his head went to the ice.
