Currently, we don't hold a pick in the range in which he will be drafted. I see him as a very late 1st-early 2nd round guy. The only way we end up with him is if we package our 3rd rounders to snag him in the early 2nd or if we trade back from 3. Would love to land him though no doubt.
I'd love to have him as our C, but just don't see it happening. We'd either have to trade back with Washington and take him at #15 (which would probably be a pretty big reach) or hope that he's still there at Washington's pick in the 2nd round, trade up with either our two 3rds (which I would be opposed to) or trade up from Washington's 2nd round pick with one of our 3rds. At this point, I think we will be very lucky to have one of McCoy or Jenkins sitting there at our first pick of the 3rd round. Then we'll be even luckier if Mack takes him. I could see Mac taking another position there and deciding to just go with Harrison or a camp cut at C this season.
I truly believe that is the only thing holding this offense back. If the Oline is invested into this draft and next offseason, I think our offense will truly take off.
Still need a #1 WR or someone who can be close to one, but that can wait until next year if it means other needs are addressed this year.
I agree. We need to get either McCoy or Jenkins to start at C and maybe an OG with our lower 3rd round pick or 4th round pick. Then next year we can get our future LT and maybe another RT to compete with Shell or a #1 WR.
We definitely still need a #1 WR, and next year's draft is supposed to have some very good WR prospects. Of course, the problem is that unless something happens in this draft, we will also need to get our future LT next season as well. If we finish at 7-10 or 8-8, we may have to trade up and use several picks to get that future LT, which may mean that unless a #1 WR prospect drops to the 2nd or 3rd round that the #1 WR will have to wait until the 2021 draft. LT can't wait past next year. We also need to think about upgrading both Winters and Shell's positions. If we don't get a C in this draft and Mac rolls with Harrison or a camp cut, we'll also be looking at getting our new C in next year's draft.
I think Bradbury will be overdrafted due to this being a weak C class which will cause McCoy & Jenkins to be overdrafted as well. Our best C option may be Risner who could make it to 3rd rd and is versatile enough that he can play anywhere on line.
I don't Risner gets anywhere near the 3rd round. He could easily go in the 2nd half of the 1st round. If he doesn't, he's a lock to go in the 2nd round, and more than likely in the first 10 picks of the 2nd round.
I'm not sure that a trade up would be necessary given that there will be a few QB's taken in the top 10 and it's supposed to be a deep OT class. My ideal scenario is: LT in round 1, WR in round 2. The WR class is also supposed to be deep. Shell's replacement can be found in round 3 IMO. I hope C is addressed this year so that it's one less need for 2020.
I certainly hope that you're right, but if we win 8-9 games this season, all the top LTs may be gone by our pick. Being able to get our C this year, an LT in round 1 next year, a #1 WR in round 2, and a RT in round 3 would be perfect!!! Hopefully we would add another OG in round 4.
I like Bradbury and think he's the best center in the draft, but in order to draft him the Jets either need to trade down and get a late first / early 2nd as part of the deal or they would need to move from the 3rd round to the 2nd, maybe package both 3rds, one 3rd + Darron Lee, or one 3rd plus a pick from next year in that range.
