IMO the green face mask definitely looks better than black, but not the gray stripe on the top of the helmet. I don't like the logo, either. I can't remember if the black facemasks are shiny or not, but I think this could cause some problems with reflecting the sun or lights at night. I think the facemask definitely needs to be a matte or flat finish, nothing glossy.
I'm surprised that you're so surprised at some people's reaction to the unis. You've been posting here a long time. It doesn't matter what the topic is or opinions expressed, there will be several someones who see things 180 degrees differently or the exact opposite. Don't let the naysayers ruin your enjoyment.
The Jets still look like the Jets. Fans should be pleased. Could the logo be better? Could the jersey designs be better? Could the colors be better? Could the helmets be better? Maybe, but they all could have been a lot worse too. I'm happy the Fashion Police part of the off-season is almost over now and we can get back to football.
I was one of the ones most against black unis, but I'd rather have black unis any day than gray. Gray is the most boring, washed out, dull color there is. It would look no better than black with green imo. Different strokes for different folks!
Hey, I was wrong about Sam too. I still would have been very happy with Mayfield, but I'm glad that we have Sam, and I'm glad that I was totally wrong about him.
Good post. Interesting...the 5 small jets could have looked good and been a good logo. Since the Jets are now headquartered and play in New Jersey, however, maybe they should have 6 jets with New Jersey the 6th borough!

Well after a 12 hour gruelling day I can't be arsed to trawl through all the extra pages lol the uniforms are okay but need to be logged under the could have been worse banner, of course they could have been a whole lot better, the logo is something a 5yo would think up. Fucking 100k+ design guru's Designer A "hey, what do you think a new design for the Jets should be?" B "Should we try and incorporate a Jet, modernise the 80's Jet with trail spelling out Jets?" A "Are you fucking dumb boy, that is old hat, been done already, we need to make a name for ourselves" B "how about a football shape below NEW YORK JETS" A "Wow, yeah, simple in its own simplicity, beautiful, now charge them for 6 months consultancy and we will keep this under wraps until the day before, result"
Lot of people saying they could of been a lot worse which is funny to me. I'm not sure how cuz they suck. I hope they fall on their face with merch sales.
Look around the NFL - TB, Seattle, Cleveland, the Lions , Tennessee now those uniforms in my opinion are much worse than the Jets. The funny thing is those teams former uniforms were much better. I liked TB’s change back in ‘97 / but did not like the subsequent alarm clock numbers . Had the Jets kept the same style but just changed the green to gotham I would have been happy too. For me it was the shade of the color.

I am sure the black jersey's will be for night games. I hope in September, if they can, they will wear white on white... but all must wear green socks. With the green pants I would make them wear white socks. green socks with the black pants. Its all about the socks fellas.. Finishes off the uniform. Very happy with the change. Now lets get a god dam snack!!!
