Instead of hiring Nike Chris and Woody just should have a contest among the fan called "design the new helmet "and design the new uniform" Everyone gets to play ...the Fans do the voting...and Winner gets Trip Around the World on the Johnsons dime Betcha they would have looked awesome
I do not foresee any long term Jets fans running out and buying another jersey with this crap. Why are their numbers on the top of shoulder? I can understand on sleeve but who can see it on top? The more I look at them the worse they look.
I wonder if any of our new FAs asked to see the new uni's before signing. You know, to avoid looking like a Buccaneer with feathers! I would have.
Meh. It’s OK. The worst thing about this has been the build up to our selection of Generic Green Football Uniform from the 1997 Nike catalog.
I dig them. It's fine. Good work. The hype was way higher than the actual product, it didnt hit that expectation for me, but I'm just ready for some football. Almost there.
In some of the pictures I've seen, the green jerseys appear to be a darker shade of green than the pants, and the green socks with the green jerseys are a darker shade still. That doesn't make sense. They should be the same color. Hopefully, it's just the lighting/filter on the camera. Also, on the Jets' website, I saw the following picture in which the green numbers and names on the black jerseys do appear to be dayglo. What gives with that? Is that a green bulb in the lamp that causes the lettering and name to appear to be dayglo?
I’m in the Jets shop and I don’t know if it’s the photos they use, but the colors don’t match the ones in the promotional photos. Those looked more metallic bright green, but the jerseys in the shop are a matte hunter green. The colors in the Jersey also don’t match the colors in the helmet...wtf is going on?
The fact is they'd never do that. You tax slave peons will never get that kind of luxury. When they say they have a contest for the public, it's a lie. They do all the designing and choosing.
They really aren’t that bad at all. For me, the single largest thing that mattered is keeping it simple. The Jets have always had simple, classic uniforms. The thing that would have been upsetting to me is if they overcomplicated the look, and made it cluttered with shapes and stripes too many different colors. I’m also very happy with the shade of green they selected. I’m not blown away but I do feel as though they’ve stayed very true to the simplicity the Jets uniforms have had all of these years. To be fair the Jets uniforms have always looked like classic college uniforms, and that was part of the draw. Not a masterpiece, but true to the Jets uniform history, not gaudy or garish. The pants are not my favorite aspect. I prefer full length stripes over the tapered style they chose. I actually do like the helmets pretty well though.
Lol when you're paid a million, you do as you'e told. You don't' like the uni? Fine, the nfl doesnt' need your ass
I think my biggest annoyance of the entire "new uniforms" process is that 50% of the comments on social media are, "Could of been worse." It's almost like saying, "Look at how shitty your team's owner and front office are and just be thankful they didn't make uniforms as bad as all the other teams with shitty owners and front offices" - like I'm supposed to be appreciative that the morons that run this team didn't completely FUBAR something and only partially screwed up something very simple.
holy shit that's what i feared. This team continues to find new ways to disappoint me. The one classy thing the Jets had going for them was the uniforms, and they've fucked it up proper. The only uniform not making my physically ill to look at is the white, but that's still a major downgrade to our old all whites. I'm struggling to find any upside. can't imagine looking at those for 5 years. need to logoff..
