If what that person says is true, then the Jets have missed an opportunity to right a very obvious wrong, and that is that for years the rest of the world has mocked the fact that we play in New Jersey and yet continue to pretend like we are still in the heart of NYC. I understand that New York is the sexier more prestigious name, but completely ignoring where you actually play and the millions of NJ residents that love and support the team is downright fukked up and quite frankly embarrassing. There is no reason the logo can’t just say “JETS”, or if you want to get cute, go with an “NYJ” so you can at least lie and say that you are honoring both New York/Jersey with those letters.
Anyone in that jets front office that suggested abandoning or altering the New York City branding for East Rutherford New Jersey should have been fired on the spot. There will probably be a lot of holes to poke in these new uniforms, this isn’t even remotely close to one of them.
I disagree, since I am poking this hole, and doubt I am the only one who feels that way. It’s a joke to ignore New Jersey at this point.
Considering we don't know what the helmets, the jerseys, the logo, and literally anything else about the uniforms....then yes, you do need more information.
Can't complain about uniforms nobody has seen yet....once they left Hofstra they became the New Jersey Jets
One more vote for New Jersey Jets. Lol But kidding aside, New York is a brand name that shouldn’t be changed considering where Jets started.
Hopefully fans are told to "cool down" regardless of if you like or dislike the changes made. 150 pages? And people thought I talked too much about Le'Veon? lol it's funny to me I just hope fans aren't allowed to be EXCITED about these uniform changes and god forbid you get overly excited I hope you're told to cool down on the uniform talk and removed from this thread lol happy Sunday can't wait to see another 300 pages of NY/NJ fans crying and complaining come 4-4-2019.
It's a joke to ever consider NJ. If NY ever blew up the bridges and flooded the tunnels NJ would be as relevant as Iowa.
You go with the idea I expressed earlier, keep it somewhat ambiguous and use “NYJ” so you can say it stands for both New York Jets and New York/Jersey...everybody wins.
Before moving into the future, let us remember our past: They have had some cool jerseys the last 20 years. I will always love them, but THE FUTURE IS NOW.
And one of the least marketable outside a reality show on MTV. No one has given a shit about the Jets lack of NJ branding for how many decades now? There’s no reason to change it.
Take the name NEW YORK out of the Jets and replace it with "New Jersey" and guess what happens? lol the same exact thing in which happened to the NJ Nets; laughing stock attendance and empty seats everywhere. New Yorkers would disown the Jets.
