i like the trade and burns at 15. i think the 2nd rounder should be samual (they have him going pick 52, we pick 46 for the 2nd round) and then i'd be happy with it. also would mean in 2020 we have 2 1sts and 2 2nds
Yeah, but drafting 2 edge rushers with those 2 picks isn't really the best way to go about things IMO. I wouldnt mind a Greg Little, lineman or even a corner. I really like Burns too.
I'd still prefer the Jets to trade with the Giants. Allen could fall to 6. Going all the way to 15 terrifies me. Edge rushers will be going off the board fast. Most teams in the top 15 need them. The other possibility is that the Redskins could trade into the top 10 first. I definitely feel safer with that.
I'm fine with trading down. We have to get used to drafting in the bottom half for the next 10 yrs, so 1 more won't make a diff. Teams like NE haven't had a top pick in more than a decade, and they just won ANOTHER SB. My thoughts are once we have our FQB under wraps, I would trade my 1st round pick EVERY draft for multiple 2nd round picks.
Hey, the Cards' 2019 2nd round pick (#33) is one tic shy of the first round. Let's offer them our 2020 1st round pick for their 2019/2020 2nd round pics (plus more depending on where our 2020 1st ends up). True, we lose our 2020 1st, but we'd have multiple 2020 2nds (theirs plus ours) AND the 33rd pick this year. Then use our new 33rd pick on the best OL (LT/C) or best DB.
Next year's draft is supposed to have a good class of OT's and WR's. I wouldn't want to pass on a blue chip prospect just to get more picks.
This is true. That being said I would still like to see the Jets get a chance to draft Miles Boykin at some point .....he has the qualities of a #1 WR and would be a nice third round pick if he lasts that long ...
Where WRs could go is anyone's guess. Walter Football (who I think are don't know their ass from a hole in the ground) projects the top 33 WRs as follows. Notice how they have some ranked higher than others, yet say that they will probably drafted in a lower round than WRs who follow. What sense does that make? D.K Metcalf (#1) - Rounds 2-4 Marquise Brown (#2) - Rounds 1-3 (I see no way that he will fall to the 3rd round) Parris Campbell (#3) - Rounds 1-2 A.J. Brown (#4) - Round 1 Deebo Samuel (#5) - Rounds 1-2 Riley Ridley (#6) - Rounds 2-4 N'Keal Harry (#7) - Rounds 2-3 (I see no way he drops to the 3rd round, if he does, he has to be the choice) Kelvin Harmon (#8) - Rounds 2-3 (I see no way he drops to the 3rd round, but if he does, and Harry is gone, he has to be the choice) J.J Arcega-Whiteside (#9) - Rounds 2-3 Miles Boykin (#10) - Rounds 2-4 David Sills (#11) - Rounds 2-3 Gary Jennings (#12) - Rounds 3-5 Emmanuel Hall (#13) - Rounds 3-5 Terry McLaurin (#14) - Rounds 3-4 Hunter Renfrow (#15) - Rounds 4-6 Andy Isabella (#16) - Rounds 4-6 Alex Wesley (#17) - Rounds 3-5 Terry Godwin (#18) - Rounds 7-UDFA Hakeem Butler (#19) - Rounds 4-6 Dillon Mitchell (#20 - Rounds 4-6 DeMarkus Lodge (#21) - Rounds 2-4 Jon'Vea Johnson (#22) - Rounds 2-4 Jaylen Smith (#23) - Rounds 3-4 Jakobi Meyers (#24) - Rounds 3-5 Jamarius Way (#25) - Rounds 2-4 Tyre Brady (#26) - Rounds 3-5 Travis Fulgham (#27) - Rounds 4-6 Anthony Johnson (#28) - Rounds 4-6 Stanley Morgan (#29) - Rounds 4-6 Jazz Ferguson (#30) - Rounds 5-7 Mercole Hardman (#31) - Rounds 5-7 (This moron calls Hardman a slow WR and says his best NFL potential is as a returner. Yeah, he's slow. He ran a 4.33 40 at the Combine. He has great hands and there's no way he's only the 31st best WR in this class. Walter Football should be shut down). Jalen Hurd (#32) - Rounds 5-7 Lil'Jordan Humphrey (#33) - Rounds 3-5 IMO there are better WR options than Boykin in the 3rd round. He has a lot of potential, but doesn't use his size well and needs a lot of work. Immediately you don’t like the idea of getting only a 2nd rd pick for this year, however, for next year, getting their 1st and 2nd sounds enticing especially Washington could finish worst then us and could very well be a top 10 pick. Even if Washington finishes off similar what they did the past season, the Jets could get 4 picks in top 50.
I was looking at a different mock, disregard that. However I dont like the 2nd round pick. Burns at 15 is good.
this is the wild card for the trade downers.......its very essential for the jets to bargain for a high pick from next years draft. It would put us in a highly leveraged position at the perfect time with the talented QB's coming out next year. has to be a thought on the jets minds (at least i hope) when fielding requests from possible trade partners. hey no problem we'll spot u a couple hundred draft chart points cause we know you'll suck next year - and we'll gladly take your next years #1 in the top 5. LOL
Two picks after our second rounder the Dolphins take the best center in the draft. While a corner wouldn't hurt our defense going pass rusher, center would help our team more.
