Trevor Siemian‘s visit with the Jets proved to be a fruitful one. Siemian’s agent Mike McCartney announced on Wednesday afternoon that his client has signed a one-year deal with the team. Per multiple reports, the deal has a base value of $2 million and can go up to $3 million. Siemian spent last season with the Vikings as Kirk Cousins‘ backup. He did not appear in any games, but brings 24 games of starting experience from his time with the Broncos with him to the Jets. Sam Darnold‘s backup last season was Josh McCown and the veteran has not yet decided if he’ll be returning for another season in the NFL. Signing Siemian might mean he’d have to head somewhere else if he does opt to play again in 2019
Bye bye Uncle Josh (unless he wants to be a coach). Much happier with Siemien getting 2 than McCown getting 5 or more, which I suspect is what he would have wanted.
good signing. solid back-up and dirt cheap and can push webb. also IIRC webb can still be designated to the PS for us as well
Excellent signing. A backup with some games as a starter under his belt and not old as dirt. I like this signing a lot and hope Sam stays healthy to the point of never seeing him take a snap under Center outside of blowout wins to protect Sam. First backup QB with a career winning percentage of above .500 in quite some time because both Fitz and Josh were well below .500 losing QB's. More TD's than INT's too. Could be worse.
Hope we never have to see him play unless we are up big late in a game. Solid signing at a good price though.
Didn't he beat us the last time he played, in fact didn't we make him look a world class QB lol fucking Jets
Good backup at a cap friendly price - things are going too well this year, something bad must be around the corner!
Excellent signing. Now sign Houston, and get us a center, Mac and you can put your feet up and have a nice hot latte.
