Ask yourself what Sapp & Donald would be in a 3-4 scheme..in fact Sapp played in a 34 scheme in Oakland. He had his moments but was far from his usual dominant self. If we’re switching to a 4-3 attacking scheme,..then fine look at Quinnon..but to take another 1 gap DT w a first round pick..top 3 mind you..& expecting him to dominate in a 34 is more likely than not just another chapter in the saga..D rob,Wilk,Richardson & Leo.
I want either Bosa/Allen 1-2 myself. I want an outside pass rusher as much as the next guy and still wish one of those big name FA pass rushers we all talked about throughout all of last season would've fell to us. None of them did. So Bosa or Allen it is for me too. But a D-Line of L.Williams and Q.Williams (3-4 or not) could become truly dominant. Leonard Williams needs help. Line up Q. Williams right next to Leonard and you'll see a world of difference.
But didnt we just re-up Anderson? He,nor LW or Q project as nose tackles. Im not denying Q has top talent..though i do have my reservations based on the fact hes extremely dependent on shedding blocks to have success & when hes unableto disengage hes pretty ordinary at maintaining his gap & towing the line. We had Wilk/Snacks/Richardson/LW all at the same time in a 34..and while they usually won their matchups it rarely impacted wins. Im not sure im ready to give a stacked 3 man line simehow leading us to victory another go.If Bosa & Allen get taken i think id lean toward Devin White,Greedy Williams, one of the tackles or even reaching on DK Metcalf.
We'll be drafting a WR this year. Adding Crowder just isn't enough (Bellamy doesn't count) I see Harry as a future star and get a Mike Evans vibe from him. I'm hoping he's on our radar
I agreed with this post until the last line. Devin White I could see, but not Williams or Metcalf. The only two players I'd consider there aside from Allen or Bosa are Brian Burns and Jawaan Taylor.
If Bosa and Allen are gone, which I doubt and no one is calling Macc to trade, I have no idea what I would do if Im macc
I don't see them both being taken before us. It's almost a forgone conclusion that San Fran is not happy with Rosen and is likely taking Murray. If they follow that route, one will be there. I would scream like a little girl if Bosa is there when we are on the clock.
it would take some stones but u could draft murray and work out a trade. would be hard to do on the fly and could disrupt your own board.
I’d sooner somewhat reach for a different position at 3 than take Williams if Bosa and Allen went 1& 2. I highly doubt that will be the case though as I believe SF would take Q Williams if Bosa did go first leaving Allen for us. Either way I think trading down will and should be the first priority. The question is if we can get close to fair value, which I have my doubts about.
Ndamukong Suh is still available for the taking..... he seems like a Gregg Williams type of guy. just saying.... he would probably come on a short term deal. just saying...
Meh, Wisniewski is pretty underwhelming @ center but Jets don't have options in FA. For depth he would be great at the very least.
This is a necessary depth move. Take a look at our current Oline depth... Starters LT- Beachum LG- Osemle C- Harrison RG- Winters RT- Shell Backups John Toth UDFA Ben Braden UDFA Eric Smith UDFA Dieugot Joseph UDFA We currently don't have any backups who were drafted into the NFL
2 dimensional Tight Ends are pretty rare my man. It is ok if the #2 TE is more of a receiver and the #3 TE is more of a blocker.
