Bosa is the better pass-rusher, would come in right away with an impact in terms of pressuring the QB.
Wouldn't it be beautiful if we told Oakland that Denver was calling us and they wanted XX player, who it is clear Oakland covets by the time the draft rolls around. Why don't you throw us a 3rd round Oakland and we'll let you get your guy, and then we still pick between Bosa/Allen!!!
The dream scenario would be trade with Oakland so they can take a QB and pickup a 2nd then trade with the Giants so they can get a QB and then take Allen at 6. It seems like the 6th pick since Mangini forced Ghoulston on us has been very lucky with Williams, Adams and trading last years for Sam.
Allen is a better fit imo and has a higher ceiling. IMO Allen is better suited for 3-4 OLB, whereas Bosa is better suited for 4-3 DE. Bosa's more pro ready, but he may have already peaked and may not be able to get any better. Allen is projected to get better with better hand usage and adding another move or two and counter moves.
A really really hard choice.......I say if no trade is worked out Mac picks the more polished player - Bosa. Can you imagine Bosa and L. Williams up front, Moseley anchoring the MLB, and Adams and Maye roaming the middle of the secondary......Jenkins, Anderson, and Williamson aren't slouches either. That would be a sick defense with Greg Williams as the mastermind.
Not for me. I'd take Allen over Bosa every time. Allen has much better production against much tougher competition.
I was wondering about that - has he played OLB or just hand in the dirt ? Would Williams be able to cook something up for his specific skill set ? I haven't seen him play too much. I know Allen is a beast I saw the Citrus Bowl....
I don't know if Williams would be able to cook up something for his specific skill set or not, but imagine he'd just play him as an OLB.
Allen wouldn’t get past Oakland since they need a pass rusher because they traded the best one in the league for draft picks so they can draft a pass rusher who they hope will be somewhat as good as the one they traded for the draft pick.
I don’t buy the peaked narrative in re: Bosa. We’re going to knock the guy’s wherewithal to learn and master NFL techniques? To me, if anything, this demonstrates his learning and mastery potential.
Yes, I agree. I don’t know how you get him on the line in a 3-4. If he adds weight, his speed and mobility potentially suffer. It really depends on Gregg Williams and how he plan to use these guys.
