Good point, but do they really want to wait until the end of TC to sign their starting center? One/some might get released following the draft, but maybe not.

of course it would be nice to have certainty, but this team has a lot of holes. Winters is often hurt so we can use depth at guard; Shell is coming off an injury. Everyone is hoping the new guard from the Raiders bounces back but who knows

Holes in the secondary. I think it's a matter of priorities. I'd love to have a good C but don't see why that is more critical than having only one starter-level CB at the moment -- who is overpaid and played poorly last year

My biggest concern is Mac himself. his drafting is bad and his FA acquisitions have been spotty at best (hope this year changes that). SO we're stuck in the dilemma of whether MAC should draft someone who sucks or overpays a FA who sucks

    Fingers crossed that's behind us

Fumbling a return is the worst thing a returner can do. Belichick straight up cuts guys for that.

I wonder if we'll be in on Jordy Nelson. I think he could be a good bridge toward finding a true #1. Reliable hands and good route runner on the outside.

Jordy is toast at this point. Serviceable, sure, but I don't think he's the kind of guy that wants to sign with a young rebuilding team... again...

I was going to suggest bringing in Sicknote Kalil for a tryout but the jubilation of Carolina fans after his release suggests that he probably isn't worth the risk.

We’ll never develop any young talent by bringing in guys on their last legs. I’m good with Burnett, Bellamy and maybe one more young wr rounding out the corp

    We'll get 3 7th rounders and the Patriots will be 3 3rds.

The reason that C is more important, at least imo, is that a bad center could get Sam seriously hurt, whereas a bad CB may give up a TD or cost us a game or two, but he can't get Sam hurt. Gotta protect Sam above all else.

And Center is kind of the linch pin of a solid OLine.

With a bad center the guards need to compensate which means the tackles need to compensate creating a weak unit.

A good center is the foundation of a solid functional line.

Catching a ball is not a rookie mistake, its called being a bad player. If you get to the NFL and don't know how to catch.........not sure where his "technique" can improve on that. You either do it or you don't.

    Top 5 of 3/15:
    Realistic
    1. Shaq Barrett
    2. Darquez Dennard
    3. Stefan Wiseneski
    4. Quinten Spain (backup position)
    5. Field Goal kicker (too many to know who) I'd like Gostkowski but don't think he'll be here. Think it'll be Folk or someone else.

    Dream:
    1. Justin Houston
    2. Ziggy Ansah
    3. Ronald Darby
    4. Stefan Wiseneski
    5. Steven Gostkowki

Right now I don't think anyone is thinking of him. Main reason is age. In the grand scheme he probably returns to Green Bay. Not the player once was. If in a week or two if we don't have anything at dend/olb he'd be worth looking into.
