Need a regulation win tonight against Montreal. They are 9th in the EC with 81 points so an Isles regulation win would give them an 8 point lead. Another reason is the Caps play the Flyers and the Pens play the Sabres. Have to figure the out of town scoreboard won't go our way tonight. Maybe the Flyers can win but I would be shocked if the Sabres do.
They are so annoying. Made the Metro tighter for the Isles at least, but definitely a frustrating game. The Penguins fans chanted "Holtby" as if he did not eliminate them last year on his way to a Stanley Cup. I know that is the point of those chants, but nothing gets under my skin more at a hockey game than the opponents chanting "Holtby". Or booing Ovechkin. Just doesn't make sense to me. Yeah, big playoff implication games tonight: Canadiens at Islanders Capitals at Flyers Penguins at Sabres
With the way the Penguins are playing, we need to get back to first place and avoid them in the first round.
Yeah, avoiding the Capitals and Penguins in the 1st Round is preferable, but the Hurricanes, Blue Jackets or Canadiens would not be easy outs either. It is a stacked Eastern Conference this year.
It’s never easy, and there’s always the “be careful what you wish for factor,” but I’d much rather face those teams than experienced Cup winners.
Everything remains even in the Metro with the Caps, Isles, and Pens winning. 2 points are 2 points. Isles and Pens have easier schedules as the Caps play Tampa 3 times, Carolina twice down the stretch. We will see how it plays out.
TDK and others as far as the Islanders they just need to keep winning but ---> I just looked and I did not realize that with 10 games left the Caps have a few tough ones including 3 against the lightning along with the very last game of the season against the Islanders !
Just checked the Pens remaining schedule...Blues, Flyers, Canes(2), Preds(2), Stars, Rangers(2), Wings(2). Four games against the Rangers, Wings should be an easy 8 points. This Metro battle is a 3 team race and Pitt doesn't have that hard of a schedule.
honestly, having the bolts 3 times might be a blessing in diguise for the caps. they pretty much have the presidents trophy locked up at this point so i'm sure they're gonna be more concerned with staying healthy than winning.
Yep, it won't be easy. Fun though! Maybe, but can the Bolts really risk that after losing to the Caps in the ECF last year? I think they will play tough knowing they could be seeing the Caps again. Also the Caps themselves have been in that position in recent years and took their foot off the gas. It did not translate well in the playoffs. I expect tough games against them.
They had oceans of chances to score and hit at least 2 posts today and put over 40 shots on net that said they have NO ONE besides Lee who can put the puck in the net.Power Play has now gone 11 games without a goal,,,,,,,,but we did not need any help at the deadline ugh this was a horrific loss to a bad team. Lets try and win 1 at a tie starting tomorrow
