The best part about adding a player like Bell is he will make everyone else on the offense better. He will make Darnold better, Anderson better, Enunwa better, Crowder better, Herndon better, etc. I agree with @forevercursed too. Adding another WR like Tate makes sense. The more weapons for Sam, the better. Of course, he needs to be protected too.
The more weapons the more potential issues. I think we’re solid right now. I’d bring in a draft pick but not another vet looking for money or snaps. We’ve got some good depth right now. Could probably upgrade at TE2.
Jets def need another WR and think we can a very solid one in the draft in 3rd round. Ball does open thing up, hopefully he is as effective runner as he last played. Center is a priority. Fortify the OL. Adding a cheap 3rd string vet RB since Crowell will probably be released unless they believe he s worth $4M.
Not to beat a dead horse especially because we got the stallion... but Coleman is getting $3.5 mil guaranteed this year. The second “best” RB on the market. That tells you how the league views him. So glad we didn’t settle.
I never believed the talk about signing a guy like him or Ingram. The talent separation between Bell and all those guys is ridiculous. Signing Bell was the best thing Mac could have done. Instant playmaker. Future hall of famer if his career continues as it has been. And, he's 27 years old with only 5 seasons under his belt with an entire year of rest in 2018.
Are there plans to bring Bell in this week for an "unveiling"? @Brook! - We gotta find this guy around town.
Crowell released. We hardly knew ye. Thank you for one of the best celebrations I’ve seen in a while though, and an extra thank you for making all the whiny old crotchety jet fans upset by it.
So true, man. Some people took that celebration super personally. People getting their panties in a bunch over meaningless drama is always funny.
This is a really smartly structured contract by the Jets. Although $3 mil to Bell is nothing... if it gets to that point, he'll hold out.
That's what Mac excels at. Cap management and contract structuring. We should arm him with a senior expert in personnel and draft selection and we could improve this team tremendously. My two cents.
They'll renegotiate and give him 2 more years guaranteed at that point I bet. Unless it turns into a total disaster.
