Our best CB might just be the ability to rush the passer. jets HAVE to go all in on a first round pass rusher next month.

Yep. A good CB will take out one receiver..... Hit the QB with a quickness, and you take out them all...

Ok now the real fun begins. The second wave of free agency. The guys that really make the team go. Three areas we need to fill:

    1. OL depth and C: Names to look at:
    A. Wisenkiski
    B. John Sullivan
    C. Ted Larsen
    D. Sitton
Then a bunch of other guys with experience that could help out. Wisenski and Sullivan because I think the best centers and Larsen and Sittion because of the Gase connection.

    2. CB
    A. Darby
    B. Calhoun
    C. Desir
    D. Gaines
    E. Dennard
A few others as well but some I'd like to get.

    3. DE/OLB:
    A. Houston
    B. Barrett
    C. Ray
    Along with a few others.

I did a quick search of the free agents and added names that will help or are familar with Gase or Williams. There are a few other at each position that can help but just names I am familiar with and would like to see signed.

Forget the phony baloney mentor talk.

I want Ryan Tannehill here to be a fully capable backup QB to Sam Darnold. If he can help Darnold digest Gase's system quicker that's a bonus.

I hope the Jets can get him to sign a two years deal.

Have to address the OLine. That's why Paradis was my most wanted FA.

Gotta get a competent center between Osemele and Winters.

He was good for Indy, but kind of a one year wonder. Could be a bust.

Forget trading up. It's not gonna happen. The Jets can't afford that, and even if they could, they don't have the ammo to trade up without using next year's top picks. Those have to be saved to get an LT, maybe an OG, or another WR.

As long as we don't have a Barr situation here are my updated 5:

    1. Andre Roberts
    2. Jason Myers
    3. 2 Cbs
    4. Edge/OLB
    5. C and oline help.

I’d bring in Kalil for a year and look to the draft for his replacement. He seems like the best center option out there for this coming year.

I think he’s had a couple good years and may be in position to get a little cash now.

Him or Darby were on my wish list after the other big names we already got.
How much can we afford at this point tho?

Yeah i don’t think they’re trading up either - I was just saying they could in theory but they won’t .

This draft I’d be happy with EDGE, maybe a center will still be around in the third, maybe a CB slides....

Next year they will need LT as it will be a hole, a #1 WR, maybe another CB.....

Slowly the Jets are putting the pieces together . Look for them to add a CB today or tomorrow hopefully .

Why on earth would the Jets want to trade up to begin with? Lol

I basically agree with whom and the positions, but not with the rankings. I think that C has to be priority #1. The Jets need to sign either Wisniewski or Sullivan. Priority #2 needs to be 2 CBs, one a slot CB (Darqueeze Dennard or Bryce Callahan) and Ronald Darby or Steven Nelson. Priority #3 should be Justin Houston. Priority #4 should be Jason Myers, and Roberts should be #5. I want to re-sign Roberts, but there are a number of good returners in the draft who are WRs and RBs who could help the Jets at those positions as well. Roberts played well at WR last year, but hopefully we wouldn't have to trot him out there at WR again this year. I could be wrong, but I'd be surprised if there are a lot of teams clamoring for him at his age. The Jets probably have a deal with him to match any reasonable offer he gets.

Should've said no particular order. Agree center should be number 1 priority then cb, then the rest.

On another note I think the Steelers signed Nelson. So much movement can't keep track and miss things but I believe I saw he went there.
