This was a deal Macc had to get done, especially after losing Barr, and not (yet) finding a Center. Like trading up and being able to luck into Darnold falling to him last year, this signing will probably save Macc's job this year no matter what happens. Gotta wonder what Bell is thinking now though after having turned down a better deal from the Steelers and having sat out an entire year. I hope it doesn't affect his desire to put out mac effort. Bottom line: Great signing.
Don't know the offer Mac made to Paradis but I'd up it and see if he has a change of heart. 10 -10.5 Per. For 4 years.
Forget drafting 3rd and picking either of Allen/Williams. Trade back and receive a major haul. Then go Center, LT & WR with our first 3 picks and build around Sam Darnold & Le'Veon Bell. Revamped offense here we come.
The kid played with Antonio Browm, Big Ben, Jesse James, Martavis Bryant, Ju Ju Schuster.... all guys who keep the box honest and or know how to keep it honest. Let’s see what happens
That's if... There's a willing trade partner. Weak QB class coupled with this year's QB trades hurts the value of our pick.
Is there any chance Bosa doesn't go 1 or 2 and is available 3rd overall? If not I trade down. There will always be team or two looking to move up in a blockbuster.
TBH Mac doesn't come off like he cares about making big splashes, he does what he thinks is best and tries to improve the team.
The Cards at 1 are supposedly taking Murray. Someone will get Rosen, likely the Giants, have the extra picks from the Beckham trade. The Raiders are looking for a QB as well but don't have to trade up. Bosa is possible at 3 but unlikely he gets by San Francisco.
If the giants want to trade up they have the extra first rounder to do it and in theory would have their pick of QB to sit and learn behind Eli for a year. We could trade down for extra picks and get Garett Bradbury one a silver platter.
I guess the funniest thing about this whole situation is that you think MacCagnan actually cares more about pictures in newspapers than the players he puts on the field.
Just thought about this, do you think he’ll ask Marcus Maye to compete for the right to wear #26? The other number he wore was #24 in college but we all know that number’s practically retired.
We have made some really great moves this offseason. Paying 13 mil a year for Le’Veon Bell? Means he isn’t worth 13 mil a year. Everyone got over market value so far this year except this moron. Why do you think that is?
Don't see the Giants as a legitimate trade partner. Had a deal in place with Mac in 15 and backed out, that's about the closest the 2 have come. Both fighting for the same fan $ makes it tough to get a deal done.
Think the funnier thing was Bell thinking he had the attention of the league and the Browns stole his spotlight. His announcement , so anticipated, was barely a blip on the big screen when it dropped. At least he's "Back in the Green"...
This is fuckin huge! For everyone that wanted an offensive playmaker, this guy is a fuckin MONSTER! This is huge for Sam Darnold. Wow!
Wow just woke up to this. I’d take it. It will be interesting what is the next move for Mac. If Jets get Houston, i’d say trade down and get extra picks to get an edge, C, WR and CB in that order.
