so we are up 1 -0 fast but now we head to intermission down 2 -1 yuck.Let me vent here = not to harp on the trade deadline-------> but people tried to say that we were getting Ladd and Hickey back and that was like making a trade and I have to ask how is that working out ? These 2 guys are NOT even in the damn lineup. Go beat the Flyers this is a game they should win !
OMG this is pathetic, Down 5 -1 to the flyers with oceans of time left--thank god this team did not make any moves at the deadline who would want to break up this team chemistry ? If we played the entire game with a power play and the other team shorthanded we would not score a goal and get shutout every game. This is real tough to watch
can you guys let me know what else is on TV right now ? Suggest a movie , anything is better than this
Think about this ------> 8 games without a PP Goal ? Its hard to even wrap my head around that , How is this even possible ?
The problem is that all the defense in the world is not helping them score goals. The Red Wings were stacked with offensively skilled players on defense as well so it was easier for team to sacrifice a little offense. What if you play Ho-Sang on 3rd line and put him on first line PP, the Isles are losing these games becaue they can’t score on PP and shift momentum. I understand where team is and how they were handicapped by Snows approach but they can’t not make the playoffs because of the inflexibility of the CS and not wanting to sacrifice a little defense in favor of some offense from Ho-Sang. There’s still a lot of hockey left and they can get this ship corrected, it just seems they went into a funk at the wrong time of season.
The next 2 games are huge. Tomorrow the Jackets and Thursday the Habs both at Nassau. These are two teams right behind the Isles so here is an opportunity to secure their playoff chances with a couple of regulation wins. Lose and missing the playoffs becomes a possibility.
You would think I would be excited about tonights game ? Geez I hope they show up and revert back to old form as the way they are currently playing blows and this is a HUGE game.
Trottz shaking up the lines he had to do something ps I like these moves Lee-Barzal-Eberle Ladd-Nelson-Beauvillier Komarov-Filppula-Bailey Martin-Cizikas-Clutterbuck Johnston-Dal Colle-Kuhnhackl Leddy-Mayfield -----Pelech-Pulock---- Hickey-Toews ---Sbisa-Seidenberg ---Greiss Gibson
A big two points. Months ago I said that this team reminded me of the 1974-1975 team, and a game like this shows it - outshot 31-20 but win 2-0 (including an empty net goal) with scrappy play and good goaltending.
Huge 2 points. Greiss was sharp as was the D. This is a solid game they can build momentum from. This was how they played most of the year.
The Bluejackets took the opposite approach of the Isles at the trade deadline. CBJ made all those moves and have been free-falling ever since. They may miss the playoffs. Good game tonight. Great defense by the Isles.
This game was another painful experience. I am glad we won and even happier that the Blue Jackets get a loss but how hard is it to watch our offense ? This team just cannot score goals ,,geez this is painful to watch. BTW I was there and there was a TON of empty seats.
Last night was all Greiss. I was watching it as I worked but it seemed we gave up quite a bit of good shots that Greiss saved us on. That being said, we’ve played well against the Jackets and hopefully we’ve left enough impression on Panarin to get him to the Island next year.
