I don't know. You could be right. I think I remember his being really good a few years ago when he was with the Raiders. Maybe his play has dropped off a cliff. The Jets supposed have interest in him, per an article I posted earlier today. I just think we need to shore up the position if we fail to get Paradis. OMG ROFLOL I googled Wisniewski and either there's a fake NFL profile on him or there's some glitch in it. It has him as 51 years old and been playing in the NFL since 1989!!! He knows his job is on the line and he is kind of Following the Eagles and Bears blue prints right now. I want Paradis way more than I want Bell right now. I’m ecstatic if we sign both, him and bell, but it’s a failure if we don’t get Paradis.
Is Bell waiting to see what the O/Line he will be behind is looking like before deciding on a team to sign for?
It'd be really nice if we could sign Paradis. Really need to sure up the center position. After that move onto tier two players. Lower money guys that fill needs. We need cbs, another rb (it's ok if it's not Bell at this point we can use that money elsewhere), and help along the defensive line. Now that this first wave is ending I'm looking forward to the second wave, guys that are the nuts and bolts of the team.
If they can get Ziggy at a relative bargain price or a short term deal it could be a low risk-high reward move for the Jets. Bell would be the cherry on top.
Let's get Paradis done. Bell would be great to but we really need Paradis. Paradis, Bell. Then 2 corners and resign Henry Anderson, sign Myers, get a backup QB, cut Crowell, figure out what to do with Lee and we are essentially done and ready for the draft.
I mean... worst case scenario... if the FO has fallen in love with Quinnen Williams... I know a way you can open up $14 mil pretty quickly...
I think at this point Ansah would get more elsewhere but if he is willing to do a one year $10-12 million prove it deal I'm for it.
If we have enough money for only one of Bell and Paradis, I hope we spend it on Paradis. Stabilize the OL please.
My Top 5 Free Agents to sign: Matt Paradis- Should not exceed $12mil. If he doesn't want to play for $12mil, kick rocks Matt. Jason Myers- We need an accurate Kicker and he is that. Bryce Callahan- We need help at the position. He could slide into the Slot. Tevin Coleman- Assuming he will come at a discounted rate, I would say go with him over Bell. We need depth all over the place. Henry Anderson- We should bring this guy back as long as it is a reasonable price. He isn't a superstar, but a quality player. Could the Jets go out and spend another 25-30mil to get Paradis and Bell? Maybe, but what would the depth of this team look like?
1) Matt Paradis / C 2) Jason Verrett / CB 3) Bryce Callahan / CB 4) Henry Anderson / DE 5) Jason Myers / K 6) Captain Munnerlyn / CB
The jets still needs $ to sign or resign other players. They only have 31 signed players at the moment if I added up correctly. I think RB are easy to acquire so I prefer signing a center or solid CB.
I don't think you added correctly. But I agree with you, they need to fill out the roster not fool around with Bell.
But I would love to be corrected. I must be doing something wrong. That sounds alarming if true. How much do we have left on Cap? Would $45-$50M be a good estimate?
Remember we have massive cap space into 2020 as well.Contracts can be structured accordingly.Given the QB rookie contract the sooner we get them in the better
