I definitely think that Anderson should be re-signed unless they sign Flowers. I'd definitely be on board for re-signing Anderson and then signing Barr. After that, the only way I'd take Bosa or Allen is if I couldn't trade down. In one sense one can't have enough pass rushers, but the Jets had pretty good pressure last year. With just the same players and Williams as DC, I would expect more this year. Adding Barr to that would make it better. With all the needs the Jets have, I couldn't justify taking Bosa or Allen. It would be a luxury. It's sweet to dream about, but if they could trade down, add a 2nd, 3rd and 5th round pick this year and a 1st or 2nd next year, those players could help the Jets a whole lot more than just Bosa or Allen.
I think if the Jets sign two EDGE players in FA - regardless of which two - that is a sign that maybe Mac already has a draft trade in place to move down.....
If the Jets land not one, but two edge players throughout free agency? Well, then... Q. Williams would become a must come pick #3. Kid is an interior freak of nature.
No, he wouldn't. With the pass rush beefed up, taking Williams would be a luxury pick and a waste. He wouldn't be playing interior for the Jets except occasionally when they played a 4 man front. The only smart move then would be to trade down and take a WR or LT.
I agree with you on this but we also don’t know the Jets thinking for sure . Maybe Greg Williams is in love with Q as a prospect . Who knows ? But in my original scenario I would expect a trade down .
The multi-million dollar question isn't how productive Bell was, it's whether he'll continue to be that productive.
Why do we think this is the case? What idea is it? I used to have those concerns but if the Jets want to win, ya gotta throw the dice. Better we throw money at him then Fowler Jr and waste cap.
1. He's a running back, so even at 27 he isn't young. 2. He could come back out of shape (even if he's trying to keep in shape), which would make him rusty and/or injury-prone. 3. He sat out an entire season over money. Once he gets his big payday, is he going to keep going 100% or will he be the next Mo Wilkerson?
Me too but the pass rusher market is getting thin quickly. Assuming we stay in 3-4, I think we go for Barr and move him to the outside.
Mac's plan not to trade for Fowler and just sign him once he hit free agency is working to perfection!
All of Barr’s analytics suggest he’s a top pass rusher when given the opportunity The Vikings used him in other ways and he played well in that way too Gotta go for him and Bell...don’t see why we wouldn’t
I thought the same. I was always 50/50 on Fowler, but felt he was at least an upgrade for the Jets pass rush.
