For me, weekends are about football and soccer. When football is over all I have left is soccer. Normally my Turkish team Galatasaray fills the void and keeps weekends interesting until summer. And summertime is about activities with my kids so not a huge void to fill normally. But this year Galatasaray is out of the title race and no interest in watching other soccer games in Turkish league. Although I like watching Premier League it is on early morning so not really an afternoon event. I hate watching NBA even during play offs. Okay I tolerate play off NBA but still won’t watch a full game even the Finals. Now comes the NHL. I can’t follow the puck anyway and no matter how much I tried I never liked hockey. MLB. Forget it. Even though I like watching Yankees are Mets during play offs even then I don’t watch a full game. I for example didn’t watch a full game during Mets-Chiefs World Series a few years back. And when New York teams are out of it baseball dies for me and most years I don’t even know who won the thing. Now folks. Besides Golf, what do I have in my hands to fill weekends until summer? Now, before you insult me, remember that I am a mod and I will ban your ass and even big boss Petro can’t save you from my fury. Of course this part is joke but seriously I need suggestions.
Bloody Hell. Cricket's the game baseball wishes it was. (I realise this is not the place to win this argument - I don't like cricket, oh no, I love it).
MLS Soccer, Brook. I'm not even kidding. Level of play is not like Europe's or South America's top leagues but it is definitely serviceable soccer with large crowds, its own vibe and fan culture. Matches are typically weekend afternoons and nights so that works. March through October.
