Well I have chills at my desk.

Surround Sam with weapons once FA opens + through the draft. It isn't rocket science. He will succeed greatly if he has the tools to work with.

I think he has the skills and ability to reach a plateau that is good enough for us to win the SB. But I have no supporting faith in ownership or coaching helping him get us there...

i seen in him what i seen the whole time. he looks like a young aaron rodgers. he does need to be more consistent, learn to give up on plays more, and make less mistakes but the talent and play making ability is there and he was only 21. He has a rodgers type ceiling and worse case he'll be a staford or ryan IMO which still aint too shabby

I think that's a pretty fair comparison/assessment although I think Rogers has a stronger arm, but at 21, Darnold is still maturing so he may get there on arm strength.

I was reading about Year 2 jumps for starting QB's, and if Sam does even half a jump like that, he will be one of the better QB's in the NFL. If he makes a big jump like some have in the past, he could be elite. I'm fine with steady progress. He is only 21, 22 when the season begins. The Jets literally have a solid window to build around Sam and then compete. I just hope they pull it off. For Sam's sake, and Jets fan's sake.

    Aaron Rodgers?...ok.

I look at Sam and see Kenny O'Brien with wheels.

His toughness will lead to a long career as a Jet.

If he plays like he did the last 4 games, we are good to go

Nothing wrong with that. Kenny O could really sling the ball. He was a pretty damn good QB, but suffered as the O Line play devolved over the years.

Not only am I confident that he is the savior . He gives me butterflies in my stomach, and a twinkle in my eye when watching him. This hasn't happened before, w Mark it was more of a twitching in the eyes and upset stomach.

I’m confident that he will never be a QB that a star WR refuses to play with.

    Which is exactly my point.

The one thing Mark Sanchez proved...it was that the Jets could win games with a solid team around the quarterback position.

Give him that, and Sam will prosper.

This. For me, no player is a "savior" of the team. IMO only the GM can be a "savior" of a team since he is the one that signs FAs, makes trades for players, and drafts players for the team. I think Sam will be good enough for us to win. The big question is whether Mac can make the right moves in FA, trades, and the drafts to build a complete team around Sam that will make us a legit contender. Like you, have no faith in ownership or Mac. I have some confidence in coaching, but not enough at this point. I'm hopeful that Gase will prove to be the right hire, but even if he is, unless Mac suddenly gets better with his player evaluation and his moves to build the team, it won't matter how good Sam is or how good Gase is at developing/helping QBs.

I didn't like how he panicked after a bad snap and often threw an interception. We can also blame that on Long....the oline coach, the o coordinator or Bowles for not pulling him.
