I think he's getting compared to Donald the same way Patrick Peterson & any quality DB prospect got compared to Revis when he was the best in the business. It's a comp based more on potential impact rather than actual style of play or traits. Donald has superior explosion, QAB & burst & does alot of damage getting penetration just riding guard's outside shoulders. Q Williams has superior length, coordination & comparable flexibility. But the comp's end there. As for Q vs Leo..they're different style prospects. I think Leo had more natural talent in terms of explosion, QAB & versatility given that he played the edge quite well in college. Quinnon has vastly superior technique & is a better finisher although Leo is no slouch in that regard. I think it's close but I'd give the edge to Leo based on versatility.
If the Qb is getting rid of the football really quick it doesn't matter whose pass rushing from the outside - they aren't getting their either.( much longer path to the Qb) . See Tom Brady who makes his offensive line look much better than they are by throwing short passes, and getting rid of the football very fast.
Williams in contention to be #1 pick overall. Williams & Williams what a nightmare for any quarterback next season.
It makes no sense to draft a DL in round one if the jets are sticking with a 3-4 defense, which Gase confirmed this week. In a 3-4, the DL occupy blockers so the LBs can make plays. THAT is why Leonard Williams has mediocre stats after 4 years. Todd Toilet and McIdiot do not understand this simple concept and MacCagnan never will.
True, and I agree that we more desperately need an edge rusher. However, Williams has the speed to be a JJ Watt type: 3-4 DE but fast enough to be a serious pass rush threat. But again, I'd like to see the Jets with Allen or Bosa, both of whom seem like likely possibilities with both Murray and Williams looking to be 1 and 2.
