I am going to jump in here and tell you guys have it all wrong about Hofstra Football..Recognize any of these names?:

Kyle Arrington CB, Gio Carmazzi QB, of course W Chebret, Lance Schulters DB, Marquis Colson. Willie Colon, Mike Damato Stephen Bowen, Charles Adams

All had some time in NFL ..All from Hofstra

I've been to games there and in the Fall it's a really pretty part of Long Island

The College Program doesn't matter so much as ability...I mean would you draft a Jerry Rice from Miss Valley State U if he looked good to you?? And MVS doesnt have Clemson on their schedule....

I have it all wrong? Really?

My brother played 3 years at Hofstra.

It is shitty football. And it's not close to the prettiest part of Long Island.

By the way, Gino Carmazzi, who you tout, one of the worst QB drafted ever says hi.

    To @Brook!

Gino is a fucking goat herder.

Where did you attend? Nassau County Community College?

I am not saying it's SEC football but the number of guys who made it to the Pros says something

Where Gio was not great Wayne C was ..Arrington is still playing for Baltimore...the other players had time in NFL

A piss poor program would never produce that..you and your brother must be angry at Hofstra cause he got benched or got failing grades

There have been plenty of busts coming out of Clemson.....Tajh Boyd waves back at ya

Still loving this list :D.. https://thedraftnetwork.com/articles/nfl-draft-cliches-you-must-know-to-survive-draft-season

    • Ideal slot receiver - Small, white receiver. Nothing else about the evaluation matters. If he’s short and white, he's a slot.

Do you even realize that you just rattled off a list of turds outside Chrebet, Arrington and Colston?

Fun fact no one cares about, I went to Hofstra my freshman year before transferring, same class as Colston, my last name is close to Colston alphabetically, we were in a class together, our names were next to each other on the attendance sign in thing.... he never came to a single class the entire semester. Shocking for a college athlete, I know.

Who said anything about being angry at Hofstra.? It treated him quite well and I have no connection--certainly no animus--other than that my brother played there and I used to go watch his games.

It's shitty football notwithstanding that a few players--some really good ones--have come out of the program.

  8. My father had Uconn season tickets in the mid 90s when they were still in the yankee conference playing at old memorial stadium.Even saw em play Hoftstra w Chrebet.

To me all colllege football is amazing. I dont need top talent or air raid offenses to enjoy the beauty in the lower levels.Quite often there are still top end individual talents just alot less of them per team which makes the great players stand out more.

The lower levels for the most part play for pride & for the school.Rivalries often dating back nearly a century.

Lower levels are all about coaching/recruiting.No glamorous TV network or polished infrastructure to hide behind.

Don't get me wrong--I love lower level sports. To me, minor league baseball is one of the purest sports to watch. Cozy stadiums, no big name divas, guys just playing...baseball.

    Love it.

I was just comparing the level of defenses that Renfrow saw and what Chrebet saw, the level of competition they played in and to say the two players (who played decades apart) aren't comparable and, in fact, is disrespectful to compare them is just silly.

Chrebet is one of my top 5 favorite Jets but I look at two players who--coming out of college--seem to possess some of the same physical and football traits. Not saying Renfrow is going to be Chrebet but when was the last time we had a sure handed crisp route running clutch slot guy that can find open seams in a defense and give our QB a third down safety net?

Hofstra hasn't played football in 10 years. The program was terminated in 2009. Not sure why its even a discussion here, the offseason is slow and all, I get it

To be fair, if you didn't want to discuss Hofstra you probably shouldn't have brought it up.

I only talked about Hofstra because you did.

I didn’t dump on my brother’s alma mater until someone else brought it up.

Hofstra football was shit and now it no longer exists.

But a few great players came out of that program.

    Nothing wrong with that.

Kyle Arrington must’ve been on one of the last Hofstra teams then? They ended the program 10 years ago and he was still playin just a couple years ago. Not too bad of a career for the guy to come out of that pop Warner league and play that long
