League has dropped two press releases stating they are waiting for the legal process and more facts but "all league personalities are held to the standards of the personal conduct policy." I suspect if things don't get much worse he will get a similar suspension to Irsay. IF things get worse such as confirming its human trafficking, Kraft is more then just a client or the girls are under age (i'm NOT saying any of these three are the case. These are the most extreme scenerios and i suspect we have already heard the extend of Krafts involvement) then he'll be forced to sell the team and i would suspect the other owners would reject Jonathan Kraft as the new owner.
Only happens if things unravel much worse, as i outlined. I suspect and hope they are not the case. If they are just look at the LA Clippers and and Carolina Panthers for examples of owners being forced out. But my original point, i suspect a fine and a few games away from the team.
I think it's worthy of mention that none of the girls/women - and I do mean NONE - have been charged with prostitution or arrested. They are strictly holding the Dragon Ladies accountable (which also includes money laundering) and the johns, so they must have some shitload of evidence that this is 100% human trafficking/sex slavery and that they've cast an extremely wide net. The Sheriff was very clear that no charges of any kind will be brought against the workers because, "It isn't their fault." I just wonder what will happen with immigration because you can bet the majority of them are not legal or even have visas. It's kind of an open secret that these establishments are notorious for the sex trade so I don't know how dumb Robert Kraft is going to play and still fool no-one. "He didn't know it was human sex trafficking!" OK, maybe not; but people who frequent these places are proliferating and contributing to the problem, even if they're not running the place or more indirectly involved. Best analogy I can come up with at the moment is pedophiles who don't physically act upon their urges, but stockpile CP and don't feel like they've done anything wrong. Uh, yeah, supply and demand and they're feeding a heinous monster that sprouts and grows another head every time someone manages to lop one off.
I don't think so, either. I think his sons and his attorneys will counsel him to step down/take a lesser role and essentially hand the reigns over. Unless, of course, there is some huge dirt other than the lesser dirt we already know. I mean, from now on his face will be associated with Fornigate and that makes the Cheats look worse than their cheatin' ways already do. I honestly think his sons will want him in the public eye as little as possible even after this blows over. Blows over, heh. Anyway, just my opinion.
I could see that. Good time to push him to ride off into the sunset if he's going to publicly shame the family.
Same think he said when Irsay was arrested, he would wait "to understand the facts" before that decision is made.
The reports were very clear that there were no underage girls involved, quite the opposite. Kraft and the other John's were charged with misdemeanor solicitation charges. Human trafficking is believed to be involved, but Kraft and the John's are not implicated in the trafficking. Likely facing a $500k - $1 million dollar fine and 6-8 games suspension. I thought the negative press might force him to step down but he has not kept a low profile since, attending Oscar parties so he may not step down.
I think league rules say it can only be max $500k fine, which amounts to $2.47 to use regular people. Irsays 6 game suspension has to be the the starting point, and when you consider Irsays issue stemmed from a disease and not stupidity like Kraft, Kraft gonna serve more. Has to. Even if some how he were exonerated, the public embarrassment is still punishment. Plus there is no way in hell he avoids suspension even if cleared, so he wont be able to attend the unveiling of yet another banner. All he is now is a public face, his son already runs the team, and his other 3 sons run his other businesses and charities, so all he does is take front and center all the time and now he wont be able to do that. He's become a media whore and it's gone now.
You should see Kraft's testimony during the Aaron Hernandez trial. It's really uncomfortable to watch. A tangent (I know, I'm famous for it), but I feel badly for Hernandez's family. His child, of course, but also his brother. A classic case of being smote and vilified by society because of the sins of a relative. It's very sad. Compelling article: https://www.si.com/longform/2016/aaron-hernandez-brother-dj-hernandez/ Aaron Hernandez left a lot of wreckage, but I do think he is better off dead, CTE or no.
The team would just wait until his suspension is over to host the banner and do the ring presentation. Your right about the fine. Suspension will happen, but doubt it exceeded 8 games. Kraft can claim sex addiction, same as alcohol addiction. He will likely have to take a court ordered class on sex addiction and human trafficking. Maybe do a PSA or donation in leiu of community service. As for the publicity, he doesn't seem to care. He was front and center in LA this past weekend and it's still fresh. It will blow over like anything else.
I figured it was a simply misdemeanor for solicitation, i added the "IF things get worse" based on the potential for more news to drop. Your fine/suspension sounds pretty spot on. I also suspect this will lead him to begin stepping down. We will likely see the long handoff of the team to his sons begin.
I dont think they will delay the banner for something like this, maybe he he was under cancer treatment or something, but not this. Hoodie already wants to move on to next year, even the banner is a nuisance to him as it is. Did you see the mic'd up where he was annoyed about the 8 minutes to close the roof after the SB flyover? Yeah he dont wanna wait 8/10/12 weeks or whatever is for a 20 minute annoyance celebrating what's long over. IMHO
Just playing devil's advocate here but has it been proven that the workers at Orchids of Asia were in fact being held and forced to pay a debt for being 'imported'? And specifically was the woman who 'handled' good old Bob one such captive? The vice squad down there in Florida seem way gleeful about reeling in these big fish. Weird coincidence that he got caught twice in that tight time frame they had the surveillance going. Would not surprise me at all if Kraft was set up by someone. Everyone has their vice, if you're dedicated enough you can expose pretty much anyone on something
I don't think the human trafficking is going to factor in at all for Kraft's punishment or in the court case. Kraft broke the law but he didn't traffic the women, nor is it even likely that he knew about it. If they ended up being underage, that would change everything, especially if he knew / requested such, but I highly doubt that is the case here, or it would have already come out from the video. Imagine being busted for buying herb on the street and then charged with funding terrorism because it came from the cartel. You can't charge somebody for crimes they had no idea about.
I hadn't definitively heard that. Well, I guess that's a silver lining in a world of shit. Then again, who knows how old they were when they started working there and for how long. That story you told earlier in the thread about the van dropping off those young girls across from your workplace and later picking them up, I felt like a crow walked across my grave. Gross. And it took several complaints? I wonder if Kraft brought an Asian girl on his arm who barely spoke English to the Oscars?
