Good stuff, also he was in contact with Tannehill as well. Potential backup?

  2. Curious what he thinks of Davis Webb.Id like for him to stick around developmentally.

he had no comment on Webb what-so-ever. Perhaps will continue as a developmental player.

  4. Watching whole thing now.I loved his opening statement talking about them actually establishing positional prototypes;Someting Bowles & the FO failed to do in 4 years time.

Yup, multi-dimensional offenses and defenses are here to stay... for now anyway.

I enjoyed his presser a lot actually and I really hate press conferences. Really liked his comment on our receivers in terms of where they can go from here, Gase wants Q and Robby to really open things up and it seems Gase has a bunch of ideas for both receivers. Both players need to be utilized better.

It's honeymoon season still, but the guy says the right things and admitted he made some mistakes in Miami.

One thing I really really did not like from the Gase presser was how he said Quincy is one of those guys that you wanna get the ball in his hands no matter how. Bates absolutely pissed Enunwa's talents away by making him a guy that operates primarily at the LOS... Gase and his propensity for WR screens plus this comment has me a bit worried.

Yes, he did say that, but he did say he would work with Q in terms of what he wants to do as well. Q will be involved in screen plays but timing is really everything as well as frequency.

Just read where the FO scouting dept complained about toilet because he never gave them specifics on the types of players he wanted. his attitude was he could coach anyone they brought in.... conversely Gates has met with them and given them profiles/specifics on the types he wants.

    looking forward to changes

Gase seems to be a lot more focused and detail oriented than Bowles.

Can't see Tannehill going anywhere as a backup unless he had no choice but to. I can see him landing in Cincy if Dalton is cut, or even Washington.

Robby has limitless potential... he can be as good as he wants to be.

I feel a lot better about Gase than I did a month ago, but part of me remains skeptical.

A big no thank you to Tannehill. To me, a back up to our young potential star quarterback should provide something way more than an option on the fields. There should be some sort of intangible quality, much like McCown had, where there’s knowledge and guidance passed down. What does Tannehill have to offer in that department? I would rather have McCown back here 10 times out of 10 and it would probably cost way less.

One part I really liked about this press conference was how he took a dump all over the New York media for being hard on Darron Lee, yet when the Dolphins played the Jets they had trouble dealing with Lee. He might as well have been talking to half of this website.

This team went from a Preacher in Herm, to deadpan Mangini, to buffoonish Rex, to death-warmed-over Bowles - hopefully Gase can be somewhere more middle of the road when it comes to communication...

Doesn’t excuse Macc’s the poor drafting.

I'm sure he could have done better, with a couple of big misses, and he would be the first to agree. But the players he drafted and are still on the roster, will flourish a hell of a lot more under the new regime. We really don't know how good the talent of this team really is. Bowles set us back substantially. There is no sugar coating that.

Wait, so the head coach of the Jets was in contact with a player under contract with another team? Link?
