Renfrow might be a "DOG" whatever the fuck that means, but he will be guarded now by the Jamal Adams' of the world when he tries to get downfield. Heart, desire, mindset, that's all good stuff but it doesn't beat Jamal Adams 1-on-1 between the lines

Sometimes having that mind-set, desire and football IQ can overcome certain physical limitations. Players like that come and go all of the time in the NFL. I like a lot of receivers in this draft, gotta keep the eyes open.

BTW the "DOG" expression means fighters, someone that fucking BITES. Turn up the aggression.

Yes, another excellent post. They do play a lot of zone in the ACC. And when they play Clemson and they have to cover Hopkins, Watkins, Bryant, Humphries, Ross, Higgins, etc.. all BEASTS on the outside, then they definitely play zone. Let those guys tear you up downfield? or take your chances on the ball boy (Renfrow) catching the 5 yard pass.....gee, I wonder what the defensive coordinator is gonna choose.

I like some of the receivers you mention, especially Harry and Samuel. Some of them I don't know about but I will read more about.

    -----
I want to suggest another guy that I think is being overlooked. Gary Jennings Jr. from West Virginia. He is going to go in the mid rounds. He got overlooked because of David Sills on the other side of him, but he is a big body that can run and he has nice hands. I think he will surprise in the NFL

Idk, I think it is overstated. Well certainly overstated in this instance. I believe those intangibles can make a good player - better, or great. (Jamal Adams is a great example of that) But I do not believe they can make someone without NFL abilities into an NFL player.

That's why the Chrebet comparison to Renfrow was disrespectful. Wayne Chrebet did have heart and he was intelligent. But, contrary to what people want to think about him, he wasn't like some guy you would drink beers with. He wasn't your brother who played on the scout team at Hofstra. Chrebet didn't catch 580 passes in the NFL because he worked hard or was smart. Wayne Chrebet was one quick ass dude. He made it in the NFL because he maximized his God given abilities, God given abilities that Renfrow for example, simply doesn't have.

    Bullshit tactics deserve bullshit tactics.

I said I DON'T use on-line draft experts to form my opinions about players--I form my own opinions and for shits and giggles I like to see whether draft experts confirm or dispute my opinions.

I didn't ask YOU to refute what all the draft experts are saying.

But since you brought it up--I'm trying to find one draft expert--other than you--that says Renfrow does not have great hands or run polished routes.

I may, in fact, be proven wrong but you are just guessing--just like the rest of us.

Yeah I don't understand folks knocking this guy--like he's the Tim Tebow of WRs with no skills.

He played at Clemson against some of the best players in college and a bunch who play/will play on Sunday. And played really really well.

Not like Chrebet (who is one of my favorite Jets) who played against terrible competition in low level college football. My brother was a three year letterman (not scout team) and even he's admitted that the football wasn't/isn't very good.

    And he played.

I respect your opinion as always. However, I do think Renfrow has some skill-sets that will translate to the next level, specifically his hands, his ability to run crisp routes that allows him to really create seperation. His break off the snap is very good as well.

I'm not comparing him to Chrebet, but you already know that's a fight you will need to take up with Stoke ... I mean Rollo, but I can understand why he's comparing him to Chrebet

He is comparing him to Chrebet because of his skin color. Wayne Chrebet and Hunter Renfrow are both caucasian if anyone didn't know that lol

oh and were good 101 I enjoy the back and forth here. I think this is a deep receiver class so there will be plenty of later round surprises. I fully expect some 2nd or 3rd day pick to kick ass in the NFL and we will have to hear about how the Jets almost drafted him...They really liked him but thought they could get him later.. or, my favorite, they were all ready to pick him, even wrote his name down in pencil on the sheet but there was a last minute trade in the pick before them. :D

Crief really had just one injury riddled year. Crowder is hurt annually for a period of time

    Moncrief injury history:

Dec 3, 2017 NFL Pedal Ankle Sprain Grade 2 Moncrief missed the season's final 4 games after spraining his right ankle against the Jaguars in Week 13.
Dec 24, 2016 NFL Shoulder Moncrief sustained an unspecified left shoulder injury in Week 16 against the Raiders and missed the final game of the season.
Dec 11, 2016 NFL Thigh Hamstring Sprain/Pull Unspecified Grade 1 Moncrief re-injured his hamstring in Week 14 and missed the following game.
Nov 23, 2016 NFL Thigh Hamstring Sprain/Pull Unspecified Grade 1 Moncrief pulled a hammy in Wednesday practice leading up to Week 12 but played in the Thursday night game.
Sep 18, 2016 NFL Shoulder Scapula Fracture Moncrief fractured his left shoulderblade at Denver in Week 2. He missed the next 5 games.

2 seasons he couldn't stay healthy. Wasn't great in 2019 with Jacksonville. He missed 2 games with the Jags as well, he was not credited for 16 starts. Crowder maybe hurt, but that man's pain threshold is on another level. He still plays despite being hurt.

The good news is most of those injuries were late in the year, we’re usually done by then.

Good point, so I guess we could sign this beast to a 3/4s of a contract, cut him before the last 4 games, no dead money.

    <_<

I think this is a good look.

  20. Crowder & Humphries are different style receivers than Crief.

Crief is more of a Boundary receiver who runs mainly intermediate patterns.

Crowder & Humphries are moreso slot receivers w short area skills.

Both skillsets could be used. But its likely not fair to compare them against one another.
