2 days and 3 hours until deadline hits,,,,,,,burn those phone lines Lou,,,would love Panarin or Stone but that could be a pipe dream ---------------------------------------------------------------------->,,Nyquist,,,Hoffman,,,,,Johanson,,,,Ferland,,,,,,Simmonds,,,,,,,and those 2nd tier guys could be much more realistic, time will tell
Sabres win 5-2 over the Caps. Isles need to win tonight and get their lead over the Caps back up to 4.
Menace or anyone else let me know if you think we should read into this or just a coincidence ? OTTO KOIVULA SCRATCHED tonight will not dress or play ?
Maybe a coincidence, I have been reading everything possible and I can’t find anything that leads me to believe that they are making a big time trade. Even Trotz thinks that they will stay put with current team.
They were about to face a rebuild anyways, may as well throw it all in on this year if you were about to suck in the next few years anyways. Trade Panarin and suck for 3 years or maybe win this year but suck for 5 years after...
Good win for the good guys,,,,,I fell asleep between periods 2 and 3 and just watched the 3rd period. Lou 3 pm Monday comes fast go get us some Help, Hoffman and Kovy would be nice.
Lou is going at this the right way — trying to find the right player at the right price. We’re in a unique position where we are trying to win this season while simultaneously building for an extended period of Cup contention. That’s different than the Caps and Jackets who are trying to maximize shrinking windows of contention.
Blue I agree this said----------> Red Menace help me out should we read into this, is one of the sound tigers goalies hurt , WHY would they carry 3 goalies ? Something in the works ? read on http://www.soundtigers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=22700&ATCLID=211792383
If we aren’t trading Ho-Sang I’d love to see him brought up for the remainder of the season. Despite his supposed gaffes the team played extremely well with him on the ice. Sure, his point production wasn’t impressive but very few Islanders have impressive points this season. We could absolutely benefit from his speed and playmaking.
I think he had a great week at Bridgeport but I am tired of waiting for this kid to come around I agree he has talent but IMO I think he had his shot and is mentally soft ,,,,there was a time I could not wait to see him play now I want him GONE and if he can help land Stone or Hoffman or someone else so be it. In other news we have 3 damn goalies down at Bridgeport also this today =
My preference would be to see him as part of a trade package, but absent of that I’d bring him up if we don’t land anyone.
24 hours left and I would be shocked if Khunackl is on Barzals wing next game and our Power Play is not improved,,,,,,,we will know soon
I get the feeling the Blue Jackets are loading up for a Cup run, and then will be one of the worst teams in the NHL next season. Interesting strategy. And while you are right about the Islanders, nothing is guaranteed in hockey. If you have a chance in 2019, make some moves to make a run. There is no guarantee the Islanders will be good or stay injury-free next season.
No doubt, but where the isles are there is no reason to sacrifice success for the next five years to go one the run this year. This team is pretty good, there is no reason not to trust them in the playoffs. There are players that can be had now that won’t come at significant cost for the future. I think that’s the better approach for this team.
