Trade down to the Redskins at #15!!! The Redskins will want to move up for a QB since Alex smith is done and they have nothing. They will want to move ahead of the Giants (at 6) and Jags (at 7) who also want QBs. You can get something real nice for moving down from 3 to 15. Their second rounder, a first rounder in 2020 and more.. Then you flip the number 15 overall on draft day to Pittsburgh for Antonio Brown. You come out of draft day with Antonio Brown, a 2nd, 2 3rds and an additional 1st round pick next year to build around Darnold. Jets, you are lucky, I'm unemployed and available for hire as assistant GM. Don't worry McCagnan, I'll bring coffee with this idea
Interesting. Credit for creativity, but I'm not sure I give up the 1st rounder for AB. Yes, they need elite weapons, and yes, he's better out of the gate than anyone else in the draft, but the feud with Pittsburgh is troubling. And there are LOTS of WRs that might become elite in the draft. Meanwhile, that 1st could be used for an OL or pass rusher, as well as an offensive weapon. I'm not saying I wouldn't do what you suggest, but I would really want to do my homework on AB and what kind of team player he is.
I don't think the Redskins are trading up for QB's given their recent experience. And the last thing the NY Jets need is another cancer from Pittsburgy screwing up our USC QB (see, Holmes vs. Sanchez). NO WAY I want Antonion Brown on my team. The guy QUIT on his team in Week 17, for crissakes.
Brown's skipping practice had everything to do with a dispute with Roethlisberger. This self-centered prick even after having 104 catches for 1,297 yards and 15 TDs was stirring up trouble during week 17 with his team's playoff hopes on the line. Pass. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/...after-heated-dispute-with-ben-roethlisberger/ Antonio Brown refused to practice in Week 17 after heated dispute with Ben Roethlisberger The Steelers might be having some problems with their star wide receiver by John Breech @johnbreech Dec 31, 2018 at 5:19 pm ET • 2 min read The Steelers surprising decision to bench Antonio Brown on Sunday apparently had nothing to do with a knee injury that he was supposedly suffering from and everything to do with the fact that he got into a heated dispute with Ben Roethlisberger last week. According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Brown's absence from the game capped a week of craziness that saw the receiver skip multiple practices. The drama in Pittsburgh apparently started during a walk-through practice on Wednesday when Brown got into a heated dispute with an unnamed teammate. CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora has reported that the unnamed teammate was Roethlisberger. Things apparently got so ugly that Brown picked up a football and chucked it at Big Ben. Although the Steelers' injury report indicated that Brown was having an issue with his knee, the report also said that he missed practice due to a "coach's decision." As it turns out though, it was his own decision to miss practice. According to the Post-Gazette, Brown skipped practice for the rest of the week following the dispute with Roethlisberger and didn't even bother showing up for the team's walk-through practice on Saturday. .
and Roethlisberger is a GIANT douchebag anyway. Not saying Antonio Brown isn't one either but its hard to tell for now
^ Right, but we're talking about the reason he was benched. If he had the dispute with Roethlisberger and still went to practice that week, he most likely would have played, right?
Im taking all of this Brown stuff w a grain of salt.I dont think theres any doubt the guy is a diva but that Pittsburgh locker room & dynamic was clearly toxic & explosive. Its hard to blame anyone specifically & just chalk it up to fuel meeting fire. I dont really want Brown anyway.Hes again, not a long term fixture just like Tate.As good as he is,hes still one of many Steeler WRs who are never quite the same once they leave. Thats said..i dont want him to end up in New England. Given a choice between the jets signing him or him becomming a cheater..ill grit my teeth & hope hed help Sam grow over the short term.
Missing a practice isn't the equivalent of quitting on the team. If Tomlin didn't bench him, he would have played in week 17 and who knows, they might have made the playoffs. I get that they had a rift between them. Apparently he wasn't running the right routes. Don't get me wrong, I don't want the Jets to touch this guy with a 10 foot pole, but he didn't just randomly quit on the team.
I agree about the locker room there. When your 2 best players do not want to be there (Bell and Brown), you know something is wrong. We'll probably never know who is really to blame here. Tomlin? Ben? Brown? Let's avoid picking up any Steelers.
