I feel like his ceiling will be Matthew Stafford or at most a Matt Ryan. Don’t really think he will ever be at a Brees or Rodgers type of Savior. I am just a casual fan with extreme pessimism when it comes to Jets. What do you guys feel honestly? What do we have here in our hands? What is your guy feeling?
I think his floor is Matt Stafford. I know jet fans are battered and skeptical but listen, we have our guy. He is going to be good and we are going to turn the corner here. It’s happening and it’s going to be awesome.
I am about to jump on Season Ticket bandwagon. You give me hope but if he turns average, I will send you the bill.
I was very concerned that they decided to play him week 1. I thought it was a mistake and still think that they should have waited. I was absolutely ecstatic with how he played vs the Bills, Texans, and Packers. -The Bills had the #1 pass defense going into that game and it was cold as balls in Buffalo that game. Darnold willed the Jets to a victory. Exhilarating win on the road. - The Texans had a beat up secondary, but Darnold was awesome against an elite pass rush. Clowney and Watt are no joke. Darnold played terrific in this game. -The Packers also had a banged up defense, but this was easily his best game of the season. Darnold was absolutely terrific in this game. I don't care what injuries they had. No excuse. He played great. After it is all said and done, I think Darnold has the ability to become the greatest QB in franchise history. Darnold's best trait that will make him an elite QB is his ability to avoid sacks and make something out of nothing. He is amazing on the move and the Jets need to continue to find ways to get his mobility involved. It is on the Jets to surround him with the talent to get us back to the Superbowl. Sam Darnold isn't a FQB yet, but he will be.
Stafford and Ryan will be able to buy tickets to visit his Bust in the Pro Football Hall of Fame some day. Will win at least 2 SBs. Best QB in NYJ history.
There is nothing I saw this year that I didn't like. Did he screw up at times? Yeah. He was a 21 year old rookie.
The next 12 years are going to be the golden age of the Jets. I just hope they don't move to LA during that time.
On a few of his picks he got sloppy with his footwork. Only thing i can think of and i have no doubt he will fix it
Darnold is going to be a good one.......a very good one. I am leaning towards franchise altering good one. Let's see what he does with a better supporting cast this year.....
I have never wavered for a second. Since his performance at the Rose Bowl a couple years ago I was convinced he is going to be great. I have absolutely no doubt at this point that he is going to be great.
I think the front office played it right......especially the decision to sit him down after the Miami debacle. I know foot injury......my ass foot injury. He could have played - somebody had the balls to say bench him a few games let him digest what he has seen so far .....give him a few weeks on the bench and view the game from that perspective. Look what transpired when he returned to the line-up. This is the QB us fans have been waiting for........now go get him some talent. NOW......
The games after the injury (what a blessing that injury turned out to be), were great. He keeps plays alive, it looks like he processes what's in front of him very quickly. He leads. I'm so high on this guy. If he doesn't succeed, it'll be on the gm and coaching staff, not him. I really think we have our man.
There were some things but all forgivable in a rookie year but what encouraged me the most was when he took over in the 2 minute hurry up and we moved the ball better than when that fucking clown was calling the plays. You only have to look at the play call on Sam's first ever throw in the NFL, I mean who really calls that fucking play? The fact he came back strong after that initial heartbreaker shows he has the balls to lead this team moving forward.
He's someone who can win a Super Bowl with a better supporting cast IMO. That's all that matters to me.
