Female Strike University Criminoles http://sports.yahoo.com/news/fsu-official-details-favorable-treatment-players-003622314--ncaaf.html TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) -- The Florida State University official who had been in charge of the office that counsels campus rape victims told lawyers suing the school that her office has handled 20 allegations of rape involving football players in the past nine years. Melissa Ashton, who had been director of FSU's victim advocate program until August, made the statement in a deposition given this past summer in an ongoing civil lawsuit filed by former student Erica Kinsman against the university. Kinsman says the university failed to respond to her allegations that she was sexually assaulted by ex-Seminoles quarterback Jameis Winston. The Associated Press does not routinely identify people who say they are sexual assault victims. However, Kinsman told her story publicly in a documentary. She has also filed federal lawsuits against FSU and Winston. Ashton, who was also assistant dean of students, said football players receive special treatment at the school, and that most of the estimated 20 rape victims she encountered during the past decade declined to press student conduct charges. ''The majority of survivors chose not to go through a process, a lot of times based on fear,'' Ashton said, adding later that victims had ''a fear of retaliation, seeing what has happened in other cases and not wanting that to be them.'' A spokeswoman for FSU said the university could not confirm or deny Ashton's figures because her ''communication with victims is confidential.'' But Browning Brooks also said it may difficult to verify how many cases actually involve student athletes. ''Absent a student being willing to report outside of the confidential walls of the victim advocate program, the hands of the criminal justice system and the university's conduct code proceedings are tied,'' Brooks said in an email. ''We cannot act on allegations of which we are unaware.'' In her deposition, Ashton estimated that her office had probably dealt with as many as 40 cases involving football players and other incidents of ''intimate-partner violence.'' She added that her office offered help to more than 100 victims of sexual battery on FSU's campus during 2014. She was somewhat critical overall of how the university deals with student conduct cases, saying, for example, that the university does not have a practice of expelling students who violate student conduct rules.
http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nca...nstons-accuser/ar-BBoG3Fp?ocid=ansmsnsports11 Florida State has settled a federal Title IX lawsuit with Erica Kinsman, a former student who said she was raped by quarterback Jameis Winston in 2012. The settlement was announced by her attorneys on Monday, more than a year after she initially filed the complaint in federal court. FSU agreed to pay Kinsman $950,000 – an amount that includes attorney’s fees – as well as make a five-year commitment to awareness, prevention and training programs. The lump sum is the largest settlement for Title IX claims regarding indifference to a student’s sexual assault.
950k?....yeah that should set 'em back some... . And as far as the 5-year *awareness, prevention and training program* goes, what exactly what will the 'training' portion of that program entail?
Piece of shit program with piece of shit players. Francois kicked off team for domestic abuse. Sounds like this jerkoff has been beating her for years. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cb...-after-allegedly-damaging-video-released/amp/
might want to check to see what the female said yesterday before you jump on the holier than thou bandwagon.
She recanted just like so many in the past looking for a payday but the audio, from all accounts, was pretty specific and damning. And earlier accounts of him beating her were also lies? Sounds like a perfect scumbag to me. But maybe you’re on to something and he’s really a choirboy.
its very important for middle aged guys on the internet who cant even keep from getting thrown off message boards judge people about things they really arent involved in.
Yup, this internet message board thing is serious stuff for you snowflakes. Can’t have outlandish opinions for fear of triggering faux outrage.
