Kevin Mawae to enter HOF!

Discussion in 'New York Jets' started by boozer32, Jan 31, 2019.

  1. Mawae was better in space esp on pull blocks on outside sweeps which made his skilllset more visible which lead to more accolades.

Mangold was more stout ,superior anchor & likely hit more targets than Kevin on reach blocks. They were on equal footing as pass blockers Mawae better laterally but Nick w heavier hands

Id say theyre pretty comparable talents.Mawae was just more outspoken & again was about as glamorous as an center can get w his style of play.Mangold’s skills were more in line & in the phone booth

Mawae's mobility as you said was insane which made him more versatile and this a more valuable player. I loved Mangold, plus Im a big Buckeye fan but Mawae was teh better player

They were both fucking amazing and I think they both deserve to be in the Hall.

    With that said...

I felt Mawae had the better career but it was nice while it lasted.

I just wish Mangold and Mawae had gotten to the big game with us.

    They both deserved it.

Who the heck cares about Ty Law? Removing his name from the title.

Mawae had some great years with the Jets. I don't really consider Ty Law a Jet; his two stays were too short, and he was a shell of his former self as a player.

Congratulations to Kevin Mawae. Absolutely deserves to be there. Winston Hill not even being suggested to get in is an atrocity, also Joe Klecko. I don't think either one ever happens which is not only sad, it's maddening. Especially Hill. :/

Anyone remember when Kevin Mawae started swinging that thing like a club and beating the shit out of people? He kept getting a talking to about it. Continued swinging. "Oh, pardon me, I didn't see your face. Plus, I'm playing one handed." Hahaha.

You don't wear a hat on your bust, get a load. I can hang a Jets hat on my left boob. It's a party trick. One time at a Halloween party I went as a Jets fan ghost. Wearing a cheap Santana Moss replica jersey, I hung one Jets hat on my bust and begged for candy with another Jets hat and said, "Alms for the poor." It was the year The New Dump opened. Fckn PSLs.

Great to see Mawae get to the HOF. We need to dig deep now and find another centre like him!

    Well deserved.

    *clap*

Interesting how the Jets two HOF players from that era were free agent additions.

On that note yeah please sign Bell, Lawrence, Ansah, Thomas etc. in March.:)

    LOL I don't give a rat's behind about Law & Reed. Ex'Jets'.

I hated the Reed signing at the time. That dude was so done when he came here yet dumb@ss Rex planted his washed up behind at the top of the depth chart. I still remember reading how Rex sprained his ankle running to the GM's office when he found out Reed had been CUT midseason by the Texans. LOL

All I remember about Law is that he was the ONLY player (brought in by Bradway) that made the Pro Bowl during Bradway's time as the GM. I think he led the league in picks too or he had a lot.
