I have to disagree with you. We went toe to toe with the best team in hockey for 65 minutes. We didn't lose the game we lost the stupid shootout gimmick which we suck at. But 5-0-2 in our last 7games which means points in 7 straight games. If the Isles continue to get their share of wins and minimize the regulation losses than they will be fine. Got to beat LA tomorrow and that will make it a good weekend picking up 3 of 4 possible points.
No doubt we played great and, in the big picture, there’s nothing to hang your head about this game. But we had ample opportunities and just couldn’t get it through. That’s the disappointment — play that well but not get the two points.
I get that but you have to give Tampa credit as well. Like I mentioned they are the best team in the league. One thing I will say is our PP is killing us and Lou sees it. I expect some kind of trade where Lou gets someone here who can really help the PP.
Both goalies played great that said I don't take much out of moral victories, playing em tough was well and good but you have to win not just play tough and hang with the big boys. ps I cannot wait until the playoffs are here and these ridiculous OT and shootouts are GONE. If we had won just half our shootouts we would have 4 more points.
No doubt on Tampa and Lou. The big name guys are always appealing but I hope whoever we get only costs us a pick or two rather than dipping into the farm for a rental. But Lou’s gonna get a player or two to bolster this team. The potential of this season is too great to just let it play out at this point with the intention to be serious next year.
A housefull with the Flu, pouring rain all day and the game blacked out for me tonight on NHL TV in LA; guess I’ll just watch the Pens and Leafs to add to my suffering.
Found the game on broadcast TV; great turnaround after giving up the go ahead goal. And the Leafs come through for us too.
they did NOT look good tonight,,god the power play is pathetic. At least they came back late and won but did it really need to come to that against the Kings ? Lou go get us some offense !!!!!
We had opportunities throughout the game but just didn’t get them in, but when they absolutely needed a goal they were able to get it, and quickly, then fed off that the rest of the period. That’s a bright side look but I think it does speak positively about the way the team plays.
Blue I am very happy they won and came back but why in the world were they even losing to the Kings with 6 minutes left to play = the Kings are horrible. They responded well after being down but most of the night they looked sluggish to me.
had they capitalized on the opportunities they had they could have easily been up 3-1. The goals were there to be had even though we didn’t play well. This team is reminding me a lot of the 2012 Kings — lockdown defense and opportunistic scoring. Now who is going to be our Jeff Carter?
That would be inline with how Lou has built the team for this year so it’s hard to criticize that approach. Would be a cheap rental.
I saw this earlier today Greg n JetBlue and yes Boyle can do some things well, he can win face-offs and he can stand in front of the net on the power play he would bring experience . I would have zero problem with them going after him as he won't cost a lot but what this team REALLY needs is offense and someone to score and or create.Boyle would be nice but this team absolutely positively without a doubt needs something else BESIDES Boyle .
Boyle definitely isn’t the solution to the Isles needs; I’m not advocating for the trade so much as not arguing against Lou’s approach if he doesn’t want to spend too much.
Eberle with a nice goal on the Power Play to tie it up,,,,,I believe the phrase goes " he's standing on his head "
