I was actually replying to your post in which you stated:
"We really need to pin a post to the top of every new page that says "we can sign Bell and a few OL and a pass rusher all at the same time".
    The fact is we can't.
You also suggested The second ranked Center in the league would only be paid $5 Million per year. Well under half his market value.

What Jets UFA's would you want to re-sign?

I'd give the specials some props for once, and bring back Myers and Roberts for sure.

    Here is a list.
    https://overthecap.com/free-agency/new-york-jets/

    Not too many high priorities.
I'd like to see Daryl Roberts back, as he's proven competent and won't cost much.

Guys like Henry Anderson, Brandon Copeland, Josh Martin, McLendon........all depends on what Williams wants to do on D.
These guys are good in the 3-4, but not sure they have a ton of versatility to play multiple fronts.
Would hate to lose them all.

    I'd bring McCown back also.
Should be cheap at this point.

Neal Sterling if he stays healthy I think is a better player than Leggett.

The thing is, they have to be replaced, hopefully upgraded. 3 corners, 2 starting WRs, 2 TEs, Special teamers, both pro bowlers Meyers and Roberts.
H Anderson. Lots of starters and role players. That's going to eat a very large amount of the available cap.
You can't just say there's only 3 guys I'd resign. You still need a full roster and depleting one or two groups to fortify one or two leaves the same result.

I think you misinterpreted my post.

I'm asking which guys we consider re-signing, as that is the first step.
The guys we don't re-sign will need to be replaced.
I fully understand there is a lot of signings and re-signings we will need to do, and need a fair amount of cap to do so.

I want Lawrence, but if Tony is correct its just too much and Mac is a spendthrift anyways..

Take away signing Ding Dong...and its a really good Post

Are there not other RBs out there who catch out of the backfield?

Bell is Prima Donna Mevi$ type..watch him get into it with Gase and he will be canned like Jay Ajayi was

I'm not saying Lawrence or any of the top FAs are too much, but 4-5 as some suggested we can afford to sign is too much. I expect we will sign a premium FA, a few mid tier also. I expect to see a very different roster in 2019 but those expecting, Bell, Lawrence, Paridis, plus a couple more of the top FAs available are going to be dissapointed.

This is a different argument and 100% correct. There are 32 teams who also have money who want the same players.

If teams are going to overspend on players, I'd rather them overspend on difference makers. I have no problem paying Bell more than the $16M he would have made this year, especially if the jets dont have to give up any assets for him.

If any of the free agent pass rushers make it to free agency, I'd also be fine with the jets paying one of them $20M. It creates new options with the 3rd pick that can be used to improve the OL.

Unused cap space doesnt score TDs or sack QBs

We've only been getting our butts kicked, the division has been owned by New England for close to two decades now.

How long does Mac get before this team is expected to compete for something? Bowles scapegoated, five years in for MacCagnan's program so when?

Why would you want a Enunwa outside is the biggest question here. He’s proven to be far more effective in the slot.

I want Ingram. Underrated 3 down back. Excellent as a receiver. 29 but I’d say has 3 good years left due to less wear and tear than most elite backs his age. He’s going to come here motivate to prove he can be a less back too.

I think Tampa Bay might behis desired destination. That no state tax thing is nothing to sneeze at.

I prefer small, quick guys int he slot. Hard to cover those guys when you can not use the sideline for help

The games actually moving away from that. I mean Adam Thielens the best slot wr in the nfl. Michael Thomas is unguardable in the slot and Juju is also not a typical slot wr that excels there. So play Enunwa where he’s best. Slot. There will always be a place for Edelman/Welker types but it doesn’t have to be anymore.

And Adam Thielen was an undrafted free agent.

The dude is one of the best receivers in the league.

Logically if we aren't legit contenders by 2020 everyone should be fired. But logic doesn't apply here so who knows?

You do that to contend for the Super Bowl, not a wild card.
