The Jets website no longer lists Jeremy Bates as Offensive Coordinator or Quarterbacks Coach, in fact it no longer lists him at all. Finally! Something to appreciate. Farewell to the "greatest offensive mind in the building!"
If anything, Jets might be able to sign Kearse cheaply. We all know how good he can be. [He did look very good under John Morton.] So his drop in performance is on *Gulp!* JEREMY BATES. I know Kearse agrees with me. And I also know Enunwa agrees with me. I'm going to go on a limb and claim Robby Anderson also agrees with me.
Finally at wawng wast. I think. I tried to search to see if he has officially been kicked in his ass but I couldn't find anything.
If you look at the Pats offense, it's almost all screens, picks, and swing passes to the flat, with the ball coming out very quickly. The big plays are made after the catch. I hate that style of football as it pushes and exploits just about every rule in favor of the offense, but just sayin...maybe these receivers should focus on making big plays once they have the ball.
That doesn't mean he's going to be used the way he wants to be used. And if Gase/Loggains past is any indicator of their future...
rewatch the Jets-Browns game and tell me that offense works. Q can manhandle DBs, so let's have LBs hit him instead on every 3rd down, Bates logic is excellent.
Keeps the QB upright tho, and has proven to be very effective. If you are unpredictable and spread the defense out, it's not so easy on the LBs at all. My only point is that WR's should be focused on making big YAC plays. Especially a guy like Enunwa who is not a deep burner, but a chain moving mismatch with big time YAC potential. fwiw, I really like Enunwa, and I hope we move him around like a chess piece.
If you get Enunwa one on one with a LB, it's gonna be a first down. I'm not arguing in favor of Bates though, this offense pretty much blew.
Offense did blow, the screens were so damn obvious that everyone just gang tackles Q and piles on him. Thats how you get a player hurt, and actually that's how Q got hurt this season. Don't think it was cause of a linebacker specifically, but when everyone knows it's coming ... sometimes it's probably not a good idea to run it. Unless of course you are the Chiefs D
Finished your sentence for you. Bates "not being able to communicate" with Shoe Booty, what a double-edged career killing thing to say. I'm telling you that Darnold clearly did his own thing on several occasions and ignored him when he saw something better. I've seen it at least 10 times that I can think of. Go Sam, lock Loggains in the bathroom.
