My main concern is I feel the free agent class has a few solid players and a bunch of mid level guys. Maybe we sign a stud or two and try and carry max space forward to 2020? If this happens I’d expect us to try aggressively to trade down. I’m normally not all about signing studs but our roster needs some. I think we actually have decent depth already. Issue is the depth has been starting. Some studs would change the complexion of the team fairly quickly IMO.
By nobody you mean Andy Reid and John Dorsey. Dorsey is also the guy who took Mayfield ahead of Darnold, Rosen and Allen. FYI I really believe the reason Arians is coaching the Bucs instead of the Cardinals was SK not getting Mahomes. It was widely rumored in AZ that Arians absolutely loved Mahomes. Full disclosure I wouldn't have taken Mayfield first. Full disclosure I was wrong.
Lol, the frying pan calling the kettle black eh? How are you so full of yourself that you post your own personal opinion on another persons personal opinion and then demand for them to state facts while you present none yourself?
...and of the Chiefs had the number one pick, I couldn't make an argument Mahommes wouldnt have been the top pick. Based on that very argument. I'm not saying he wasnt worth it, clearly he was. I'm just saying, at that time, everyone had him rated much lower than he was drafted. Outside of the team that actually drafted him. People were stunned and thought it was a reach. Including myself. I, as well, was wrong. Meh, I was wrong about all the QBs in this past draft for varying reasons. Happens. Still, my point, hindsight is much easier to do when you see a coach like Reid, turn someone like Mahommes into this caliber of QB. Based on the way most viewed him during the draft, foresight was hard to establish because of the things at that time in which I pointed out.
The "piss off" really adds to your argument, doesn't it? Are you still in middle school? I make no apologies for believing the English language contains sufficient vocabulary and structure for intelligent people to distinguish between fact and opinion when proclaiming same; the fact that this seems beyond your capabilities is your problem, not mine. A message board is "literally" used for messages. Messages may be factual or fantastic, it is a shame that you are unable to understand the difference. You really should look up what "literal" means; it's not what you think, nor is "visceral," in fact it is quite the opposite. Jeremy Bates says hello!
From looking at the assistant coaches, I get the feeling that the team might do better next year than we all initially imagine now. Looks like Jets will fix their OL with a good OL coach after all. Looks like they will get their defense ready to go for the kill. What remains unsettled is the WR/TE coach and RB coach, a.k.a. skill-position coaches. And yeah. Of course the QB coach. Let's just hope that Gase can actually bring the best out of Sam. If he does his work, and these assistants do their "usuals", then the Jets will improve a lot. They might pick up 6-7 more wins than they did this year.
Your quote: "A majority of that $100 million is going to be needed just to resign scrubs in order to fill the roster and not on making huge splash" What you said was not intended as an opinion, it was stated as a fact without anything to back it up. Just because your pissed about the head coach/GM doesn't mean you can say whatever you want without being challenged. In fact, we have enough cap space to resign many of our own FA ( most need to go) and enough to sign Bell, Brown and whoever else we want. Quincy was the only person besides the 2 Anderson's that will get anything significant and Robbie is a UFA. Now, who we sign and who retain, well, I don't have confidence in the GM, but after signing our own and the draft, we will be able to sign almost anyone we want and multiple times. https://jetswire.usatoday.com/2018/12/31/full-list-of-jets-free-agents-2019-nfl-offseason/
https://jetswire.usatoday.com/2018/12/31/full-list-of-jets-free-agents-2019-nfl-offseason/[/QUOTE] Interpretation skills apparently are at a zero because everyone without references is an opinion, such as what you just posted as a "fact" without bringing any verified sources to back up the delusions of grandeur claims that we will be able to resign our depth, go out and sign two top flight offensive players in bell & brown and get whoever else we want to at the process. Just because it is obvious that we will have to fill a majority of our roster with scrub players with the 100 mil cap space, i.e. A. we have failed to draft quality players in positions of impact for multiple years now B. We have so many holes that there is not enough quality available in FA to even fill without using mediocre players ( We need WR, OG, OT, RB, LB, CB and DL is we let go of Leo) C. Mac has no track history whatsoever of being able to attract quality players even though he is willing to give the most money. It doesn't mean it is a reality and a fact. Both of what we are saying is complete conjuncture because the potential outcome isn't measurable.

In 2015 he attracted just fine as he intended to. 2016 and 2017 were intentional rebuilds to generate space and evaluate young talent to build to 2019. The rest makes sense to me.
Jet fans just breathe. After Sunday I've come to the realization that we are a cursed franchise and will never make or win a Super Bowl. Enjoy the 98, 09, and 10 runs. That's all we're going to do. It's so hard to get there and win. Look at Brees, Rodgers, Marino etc. Some of the best qbs ever and they can't get back or even win. It's taken us 50 years and we think we might have our qb of the future. Hopefully we do. I fear Darnold will be Rivers. Great qb but can't beat Brady etc. Maybe I'll feel different in September but after seeing the Patriots dominance I just don't think we'll ever get lucky and win one. Jet fans will live in purgatory.
Aside from the fact your post is depressing, I don’t think the patriots and Brady will last even 1/3 into darnolds career?
I probably should've expanded my etc. Mahomes, Mayfield, Jackson, Watson, Luck, Rivers. Rothlisberger. I wish I'm wrong and Darnold et al can win one for us but almost 40 years for me and I just don't see it happening. Yes a depressing post. I usually feel this way in January especially when the Patriots are going back to the Super Bowl and come around in September but I feel differently this January. I feel like I've accpeted the cards are stacked against us and we have no hope. I hope I'm wrong.
Dont be so sure. Until the fat lady has sung im under the assumption he’ll be in a wheel chair drawing RTP calls on every play
