I'm not too worried about this because Gase is the HC/OC. The new OC is basically Gase's puppet :p

Noggains may be the lesser of 2 evils where adding a “real” OC could make the room crowded. If Williams is a done deal then there’s already a lot of...personality...on the coaching staff.

People give Christopher Johnson a hard time, but it looks like he is really trying to make the Jets a winner and give the fans something to cheer for. He obviously has upgraded the offensive and defensive coaching already. Almost going the complete opposite of Bowles, Rodgers, and Bates. That is a good start since they were brutally awful. Now they will go after play makers in free agency and the draft. Then unveil their new logo and jerseys. Optimistic posts are rare here, but I give the Jets credit for what they are attempting to do in 2019.

    Williams defense was 30th.
    Gases offense was 31st.

Yeah, a lot to be excited about here. Give me a break. No wonder everyone is laughing at us. Like I said before...EMBARRASSING HIRES...BOTH OF THEM.

If this is a done deal then I'm honestly excited. Although I was disappointed by the signing of Goosey the bug eyed Chihuahua after hearing him speak a little I've begun warming up to it. With the signing of Williams the entire dynamic and culture of this team will change(hopefully for the better) and that's what I personally feel they need.

I seriously think CJ has done fairly decent job with his first run at hiring a CS. Give the poor billionaire credit he's clearly trying to turn this team around.

Williams defense was 30th in what year? It certainly wasn’t last year. Cleveland had an excellent D.

Ends thrive in his system. I have to believe we are going all in on finding two ends. I’m thinking Lawrence and someone in the draft.

I know people here disagreed with him, but I never saw him as a troll.

    29th in yards allowed
    21st in points allowed

    Perhaps DVOA is better?

I still think he’ll be an upgrade, but those numbers don’t scream excellent D.

Some people will never be happy. Yes lets cherry pick 1 year of their careers. That makes sense.

They both had more success in past years, no doubt. It’s still odd that they’re taking the Jets over coming off their worst seasons.

    Not to be condescending but
.5 pts/ game more than the Rams
    #5 in INTs
    #1 in tackles
    #6 in forced fumbles

Trust me. That defense made plays. You can look at the numbers and be unimpressed but if you watched them, you’d know they were moving in the right direction.

I did watch some of their games. I’ll have to go back and watch more. I know that he preaches getting the ball and in that regard they responded, but they never looked elite to me.

Because the Jets are completely dysfunctional. We bring in a great new prospect at QB, we are on the threshold of brand new uniforms, and we hire these two losers. The people running this organization are inept. It's embarrassing.

Who did you want? For HC and the coordinators.

Williams actually coached the awful Browns to their best season in a while. Can’t take that away from him. I’m sure his attention was divided while doing so. Sounds like he’ll be the defensive head coach here, which could work to everyone’s advantage.
